Can anyone tell me how to remove soap scum (I guess that's what it is) from my glass shower door? I have tried glass cleaner and that doesn't even come close to cleaning it.

What can I do next?

Have you ever used the Mr. Clean magic eraser? It is amazing! Plus you don't have to use any cleaner with it, just wet it! Good luck

Go to Home Depot, get the Zep brand tub and tile cleaner, and a Mr. Clean magic eraser. If it is really bad, you may have to clean it twice. Also, use the hottest water that you can stand.

You will need to get a respirator since you are pregnant. Does
not smell very good but it does the trick.

Hi K.,

Scour Off will work. It is one product from Shaklee Get Clean non-toxic cleaners that were highlighted on the Oprah Winfrey Earth Day Show and her Favorite Things Show. We are on Vogue Magazine this month. These products are free of hazardous ingredients, very concentrated and they really work. Shaklee cleaners will help make your home a non-toxic home. Below is one of many testimonials on scum removal.

Testimonial: Actually...our double glass shower doors are what really sold me on Shaklee. Here's the story.

We lived in an old farm house and a tub/shower had been installed in front of a window....you could see every deposit on those big double "hammered glass" doors...actually we had installed them instead of using a shower curtain.

We had well water and I did everything to get them clean after they had gotten cloudy. I used different scrubbing utensils/pads and different scrubbing powders, even Zud. They always looked good when I was cleaning them and they were wet but when they dried they always looked the same...never any improvement.

We bought some At Ease and used it; it was easy to use and when the doors dried they looked great, I mean GREAT!!!!!!!! It was the first time I could get them clean. That's when I decided the Shaklee products are GREAT!!!!!! True story!

I would do the same thing with your shower doors...water, sponge and Scour Off!

Hi K.,
I use Tub and Tile from Melaleuca. Works amazing, is non-toxic and disinfects. It will take that scum off your door with no problem! vinegar works well but does not disinfect and the other suggestions work because they are extremely toxic and contain cancer causing agents! I would NOT recommend them.

K.,

Clean it with white vinegar. After it is clean, put lemon oil (furniture polish) on a cloth and buff the glass, giving the shower door a light lemon oil coating (not enough to wash off and make your tub or shower slippery and unsafe.) This will prevent the soap scum build-up for much longer.

Cheers,
K.

I clean with white vinegar. It is safe around kids and pets. I just use a spray bottle. Sometimes I will water in down, but for soap scum use it full strength.

Good luck!

The Comet spray bathroom cleaner for soap scum works well. I've also had success with KABOOM. Good luck!

My dad used to use Lime Away. I currently use Scrubbing Bubbles. It works wonders on soap scum.

Try using Kaboom... they sell it in a purple bottle. That'll do the trick.
