The Disney Store sells kids sleepers, although you'll probably have to buy a size bigger (their sizing is small) or the Children's Place is good too. Both have big sales this weekend too.
Happy shopping and congrats!
Since my daughter was born, I've always used sleep sacks. She will soon be 9 months and I am sorry to say that the kiddapotomus long sleeve sleeper I was hoping to use this winter is already too small for her! I've got a thin, long girl, and it doesn't seem like any manufacturer produces for this. Halo sleep sacks are long enough but I don't think they make any with arms for larger sizes.
Does anyone have any ideas? It just gets so cold in Jan. and Feb., and there is no way she is going to stay under her blanket.
Thanks everyone. I am for sure going to buy some two piece PJ's from Lands End --that will help with her length outgrowing everything too.
I already am using the Carter fleece PJ's. We keep our house at 68, so she really needs a onesie, PJ's, a sleeper and then a light blanket. She most likely is fine with sleepers without arms but I am just worried about how cold it gets here in Jan and Feb.

Doesn't Halo make a sleep sack for walkers? They are a sleep sack, but they have foot holes so length isn't as much of an issue.
My tall 13-month-old wears footed pajamas and a Halo XL sleepsack every night. They are convenient for naps too - I just take off her pants if they have buttons or zippers and put her in her sack. She would probably be fine in the blanket sleepers (she used to wear those last winter) but she seemed to suddenly start sleeping better as soon as we got her a sleepsack around 8 months old and we've used it ever since. There are actually sleepsacks with holes at the bottom for walkers, but we'll probably just stop using them once she outgrows the XL size.
I had the same problem with my son...very tall and skinny. With the Halo sleep sack you can get the long sleeve onesies or shirts and put that on her under the sleep sack. Also you can start looking into the blanket sleepers with the feet. My son loved them so much we had to find thin ones for the summer!!! He wouldn't sleep his first summer with his feet uncovered. Those two options worked for us. Good luck and congrats.
Blanket sleepers are really warm. My daughter hates to be covered and she sleeps in Carter's fleece sleepers. She is currently about 30 inches long (give or take a bit) and the 12 month sleepers fit fine. The fleece is really warm and no worry about no covers.
I never used blankets in the crib, so once my kids outgrew the sleep sacks, I just put them in regular footed sleepers with a onesie underneath. They were plenty warm.
I agree that Carters' blanket sleepers are the best! They are soft, warm and cozy and they are also really cute!
A sleep sack will be a pain when she starts cruising. She will be able to get around much better with the sleeper and they are definitely warm.
Other brands are fine also, but the Carters seem to be the nicest ones.
Go to their outlet when they have a sale and get their online coupon and you can get some GREAT deals!
I used the sleepsaks too and then I switched to footed zip up pajamas. Kohl's has some nice cozy fleece ones from Carter's. It's like wearing a zip up blanket.
I put my son in fleece one peices with the feet in them. That why he can't kick off his socks and I know he is warm. I also keep his door closed so all the warmth stays in his room and he is fine. I have never checked on him and he was cold. The blankets will probably not stay on her if she is a mover like my son. Good luck!
Hi J.,
I put a long sleeve onesie on along with a fleece sleeper with feet. Then I have invested in a Grobag. They are incredibly warm. The halo sleep saks are not very warm. The Grobags are just like a sleeping bag. They are pricey, $60, but soooo worth it. She is 15 months old and is using the one from last year still. They are long and roomie. The arms are cut out. She stays warm with the two layers on her arms and the Grobag. I would search Grobag on line. There are distributors in the USA. Happy warmth. D.
Have you considered one piece pajamas with feet rather than sleep sacks? My 10 month old daughter isn't long, but she is small and gets cold easily. I put her in very warm footed pajamas with no blanket and she stays warm all night. I also use flannel sheets so they stay warm - regular linens feel cold especially to a warm body. I loved the sleep sacks when they were younger, but now that they can crawl/stand they need the footed pajamas. You can get them anywhere, the last set I got was from Target, 2 for $15.
Go to Target and stock up on thick footie-pajamas. They are the best! No need for a blanket. And they're perfect for older babies who can now roll over, etc. Their legs are not confined in a sack. : )
I always liked the Carters flannel footie pajamas. They were a great step after sacks for us.
They have the footy pajamas. They have fleece ones. They are very warm and cozy. Lands end has two piece footy pajamas if you prefer it to the one piece zip up. Then if you want to put the sleep sack over this (the one with out the sleeves) if you feel she still needs some more warm.
My older daughter was the same way! She was born in June and by this time was in 12 mos for sleeve and leg length but onsies she was still in 0-3 mos size. In fact the summer my older one turned one she wore summer clothes sized 3-6 mos, but pants were up to 18 mos by then.
She also hated feet pj's. So, I found size 12 one piece outfits and used them for pjs. It was hard to find, but I found enough to make it work. I didn't mind the baggieness and neither did she, but the legs and feet were the right length. She wore socks (sometimes socks and slippers) on her feet. To keep the socks from coming off at night you put them OVER the pants.
Good luck on your search,
N. (my June girl is now 9 yrs old)
My 10 month old is also long and skinny, and we use Carters blanket sleepers with a onesie underneath (the fuzzy ones with feet that zip up). They are warm, CUTE and cozy, and now my almost-4 year old wanted some too! My baby is in a 12 month now, but soon to be in 18 month! The tag lists the height and weight for each size, which is helpful. They are inexpensive too- I get them at Kohls, Costco, and of course the Carters store (which is GREAT if you haven't been in there!) They are also great for crawling around the house when it's chilly!
I have not seen any long-sleeve sleepers for bigger kids, but the sleeveless are available even in toddler sizes. What I did with my daughter was to put on a long-sleeve onezie or footie PJ's and then use the tank-style sleep sack. One Step Ahead has them in sizes all the way to XL (which is up to 36 lbs.). Here is the link: http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId...
They even are available is fleece. Good luck!
I know what you mean, I had the same problem. However, You can buy footed fleece pjs though. You can also layer them. Those snug fitting pjs that look like long underwear and socks go nicely under them. Of course if she is long you might need the next size footed pjs. (I always found carters - or Walmarts brand to be a bit longer) My daughter learned pretty quickly to keep a blanket on too. Good luck and happy Thanksgiving!
Carters makes fleece footie pjs. love them!!
I used to put my guy in a long sleeve onesie and then put the sleevless sleep sack. I would also think that they make footed blanket sleepers in her size as well. You would be surprised at how warm those keep them. I don't think she'll be too cold. It's a fact that we keep them too warm most of the time -- don't overthink it, as we all do with our new babies, Happy Thanksgiving and good luck!
I just saw toddler sleep sacks in the One Step Ahead catalog. They have arm holes and leg holes. My son is 10 months old and on the smaller side and may not fit into the size medium Halo sleep sack for the whole winter. He's getting long for it and he's only 27 in.
Buy her some heavy, soft fleece sleepers with feet and that will help to keep her warm!
I made my own sleeping bags for my boys. It made diaper changing better. They were both always warm sleepers. Maybe you can find someone who sews or learn how. Like we all have loads of time. Try Natural Baby they might have something.
Why not just put her in a long sleeve onesie and then in the sleep sack, that is what we do and we don't even allow her to have blankets in her crib.
We got a winter sleeping bag from www.babyinabag.com. It worked great for us! I.
I just use the Halo Sleep Sack in XL for my 18month with a blanket footie sleeper under. He seems comfy and never has cold hands when I've checked on him. I too couldn't find long sleeves in bigger sizes. The Halo has worked out fine though.
I love them too and i only find them online at babies r us. They have a pretty good variety too.
My almost 9 month old wears the One Step Ahead Dreamsie Luxe (long sleeve) sleep sack. I love them, and they fit perfectly!! I just checked the website, and it appears they only have preemie and small sizes available right now, but you may want to call them, because they do also have medium and large sizes that are perfect for older infants. Hope this helps!!
If the Halo sleepers don't have sleeves, try putting a long sleeved onsie on under it. Otherwise, find a nice heavy blanket, dress her in heavy footsie sleepers and know that she'll let you know if she is cold.
OUr daughter is almost 11 months, and we put her in the Halo sleep sack, and she has long sleeved pjs on and does just fine! She stays super toasty. Give it a try and good luck!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Kelly
Hi J. - I have two daughters and the both wore sleep sacs until age two. I used the halo ones and put jammies under them (or long sleeved onsies) to make sure their arms were covered. Good luck!
We put our 10-month-old down to sleep in a Halo sleep sack with a long-sleeved onesie and socks underneath.
Best,
R.
