My daughter is turning 7 and wants to play the sims 3, We let our 11 and 10 year olds play it, and there isnt anything bad, just well, somethings are a little more mature, any advice on alternative games that are just as fun, or a way to let her play the game, without worrying?
The only bad thing I can think of is the flirting, butt grabbing, makeing out, and having sex(they call it woohoo). I don't let my 6 yr old play it without me there because honestly I don't want him seeing the "woohoo". He would have no idea what they are doing but I don't want him to wonder either.
My son is 8 1/2 and I'm continually surprised at the things he learns or hears at school, daycare, from friends that is "supposedly" too mature or adult that he won't understand. I think the Sims games are great fun for a teen or adult. Any younger than that and they are exposed to too much adult stuff as it is that we can't control. 7 is too young IMO.
I would think it would be fine - I don't think there is any killing or anything, and the adult humor will go over her head.
animal crossing for the wii is a good alternative.
sorry, but a "game" where you can have "simulated" sex , is not a "game" that a child under 15-16 should be playing, but thats just me. the best favor you can do for a pre teen who more then likely thinks they know everything when it comes to sex, is to actually give them the true facts.. like, for instance..no teen age boy can last" for hours" like they claim, foreplay to a teenage boy is getting it out of their pants, and usually takes them a few years of "practice" before they can even accomplish that feat, no teenage boy can pull it out of their pants and use it as a boat anchor, though i am sure a few of them have tried.. you get what i am saying..right ? right games that are age appropriate, a seven year old is still very much a child
