I actually had a blood clot in my arm.
It started out as a small sore spot with a little redness. I thought I must have been bitten by a spider or something.
Within a couple of days, my arm hurt so badly that I couldn't stand even a shirt touching it and I couldn't shift gears in my car. The slightest bump or jostling sent me through the roof.
Even though it killed me with pain, I finally grit my teeth and really poked around and I could feel a lump. It was summer and hot, and I didn't realize I had a fever of over 104.
I went to the emergency room and it was a blood clot.

Not too long ago, I got a funny pain in my calf. I figured I bumped it. Within two days, I was in so much pain, I couldn't put any weight on my leg at all. I was in agony. I was terrified it was another blood clot. I was taken to the ER and was shocked when the doctor said it was my sciatic nerve.
I was certain he was a quack! My back didn't even hurt, but I was ready to saw my own leg off because of the pain.
He x-rayed my back. Gave me a shot of morphine and sent me home with a referral for doppler on my leg.
There was NO blod clot.
They gave me pain medication and some exercises and told me not to sit this way or that way, and the pain went away.
I had a pinched nerve.
Sounds crazy, I know.

Definitely follow up with your doctor but don't be surprised if it's something that seems completely unrelated.

Best wishes and I hope you feel better soon!

I've had a blood clot. It was last year at the very end of my pregnancy. Get to a hospital or clinic that insists on doing an ultrasound of your leg. While, yes, some of the folks on here may be right and it may be as simple as a sciatic nerve, what if it's not? Blood clots are nothing to mess around with. I pray it's something simple, but you need to know for sure and only an ultrasound will tell you that. I was very lucky because my doctor could have easily dismissed my swollen leg as something normal in pregnancy. I was only two days away from my c-section. And I had no pain associated with it, just swelling. Thankfully, she said, "Let's just go get an ultrasound to rule out a clot." Well, the next thing I know, I'm in a hospital bed and being told not to move around too much!

I don't know. But I think maybe it would be worth driving to another hospital.

I am not sure of the signs but it is often from limited mobility. Recently, I had surgery and they use cuffs from the knee to the ankle which tighten and release to keep the blood flow in the legs.

My burning feeling was due to a back injury, which was affecting my sciatic nerve. After 10 months of attempting to adjust the back into place, I finally had back surgery.
