Should I Spend Money on New Cloths or Wait?

My hubby got me a gift card to get myself some new clothing, I got rid of all my clothing that I was hoping to fit into someday from before I had kids, I lost all my baby weight a long time ago, the before kids cloths still never looked right on me again (and I am just now accepting this ;0 ). After my second it didn't seem like my body changed much from how it was. I really want to go buy some pretty new cloths (that are not cheap) but we are hoping to get pregnant in few months. So how much can I expect my body to change after the third? I read in a baby book I think the girlfriends guide that bodies change the most after the first and not much after each baby. Was this the case for you? I know this is a really silly question but I can't afford to buy things that will only last me a few months, I might as well buy shoes or purse. Should I wait on the cloths? TIA

What can I do next?

My body didn't change AT ALL until after my third child. After her is when I got my hips and when my legs got bigger. After my first two daughters, my tummy went down pretty much the same, but after #3, it was never the same. Although, in my case, it probably didn't help that I became pregnant with #4 when #3 was only 9 months old. I had already lost all of my weight, but hadn't regained my shape.

I would buy some clothes so that you have some new items to wear until you conceive. Wait to buy more expensive items or items you don't really need right now. Your body may or may not change after # 3, but if you need clothes to wear now, by all means get some! :) Hubby gave you the go ahead, so go shopping mama!

Buying pretty new clothes that fit to me help you feel great now, no matter what the future has in store. If you need new clothes later I'm sure your husband won't mind presenting another gift card...sounds like he thinks you'd like to shop now.

I'd wait on the clothes. If you'll be pregnant in a few months, then you'll only get to enjoy the new clothes for a few months and then they'll have to be 'retired' for 9-12 months and, depending on your style and how you shop they may be completely out of season or style.

Save the gift card for when you're done being pregnant and you can get exactly what you want and enjoy it. What a nice gift from your husband!

I would wait because you will become very sick of your maternity wardrobe the third time around. I dropped about 10 more pounds than I gained after my first child and another 10 or 15 extra after my second (so I went down about 4 sizes after my second pregnancy) and learned the hard way not to buy a lot of new clothes on the way. You could invest in one or two nice, versatile pieces that could flex with weight, but also don't set yourself up for NOT looking awesome after your third child. I fully intend to be back in the clothes I like after this baby. Since it is summer you could get some cute drapey tops or cardigans since you can wear them in early pregnancy and they are forgiving styles for now. I'm just annoyed that I need a whole new maternity wardrobe now since I gave away my other clothes and they were too big anyway. It is way too easy to spend too much money on clothes, I'm finding. :)

Well, the true is that how much your body change depends on you, genes are part important but if you really want to and work for it, you will get back to eat.
Francisca Dennis is a fitness model and she have 6 kids and an AMAZING body!! As well as many other Oxigen magazine models.
But then again, these women live of that (keep their bodies in amazing chape) and work hard for it.
You may want to take it slower and therefore I wouldn't buy new clothes now.
With my first baby I barely gain any weight, people wouldn't believe I had a baby, with my second I still haven't lost the last 10 pounds.
But, true is, is all me and my relation ship with candy.
I am also not sure about shoes because I don't know if is only me, but my feet grow 1/2 size after baby, is that even possible? I guess it is.
If I have a gift card and wanted to spend the money on me, I would buy jewelry or a nice purse.
Is something that pre-baby, while pregnant and after baby I could always use, and in case of jewelry I could past it to my kids when they grow.

I wouldn't buy too many new items if your anticipating getting pregnant soon. However, monetary gift cards might be classified as "lost & unclaimed property" (and escheted to the state by law) if your gift card goes unused for an extended amount of time.

On the other hand, in terms of saving your pre-baby wardrobe, keep in mind that once you get preggers, you'll wear your maternity clothes for the bulk of your pregnancy and a while after, and then you might have another year of nursing clothes and post-pregnancy weight loss. Hence, you might not be wearing your pre-preggers clothes for 18-24 months... And by the time you do, the current fashion/styles may have changed.

I would go buy some stuff now. After all, you don't know how long it will take for you to get pregnant. I would go buy stuff that is relatively inexpensive for now. Maybe a couple of nice pairs of shorts and a few nice shirts. If you're a SAHM, I'd stock up on comfy stuff to wear around the house. Look at what you really NEED vs what you WANT. You can get buy with just a few things for now.
As far as your body changing, each person is different. Mine changed drastically after my 1st and not at all after my 2nd.

I am not in your position as I have an only child (15 now) and I never have had weight issues.

While I agree with some responses that maybe you should wait on some larger ticket items, as in not buying an entire wardrobe...... why not buy at least something you can use now, embrace your body, make hubby happy, look sexy.

Some simple black Bebe pants or skirts with a fitted/flattering top can be used later. I love to get beautiful tops and wear with skirts or pants. I purchase nice things (not cheap) from Neimans, private stores, etc.

Go for it and get at least 1 ensemble you can use and feel great in.
