Hi T.,
Where are you in Queens? I live in Astoria and have a 2 year old and know a couple of play groups here if you are interested. The winter's a hard time with a kid, so send me an email and hopefully I can help you out.

I am a new mom, my son Liam is just 4 months old today. I am sometimes feeling overwhelmed, and after moving to this area I find it difficult to connect with other women and mothers my age. I was thinking of starting, or attending an already in progress mother's group. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Hi T.,
One option is to work with The Mommies Network - www.themommiesnetwork.org We're a national non-profit that helps moms start communities in their area for online support and face-to-face events. It's free. :) We do the technical part, help you find moms, and provide you with a network of other moms doing the same thing (we currently have 66 communities in 20 states). Just visit our website to learn more.
hi - I live in Queens too.
My boys are 6 and 3. I know in Maspeth and in Sunnyside there are play groups you could attend. If you start a group, let me know. Even though I don't have a baby, (and I'm not going to be having any more), maybe I could help.

Hi -- My son Theo is 4 months old today too (Jan. 8th)! I live in Manhattan. I would love to join a mother's group as well. Please let me know if you start one or find one.
Take care!
