I love to cook but feel very limited with ground beef. Outside of taco, meatballs, and maybe chili I dont know of any recipies for it. If anyone could help my boyfriend would of course be very grateful.

What can I do next?

Tator Tot Casserole

1 bag of Tator Tots
1 can cream of chicken
1 can cream of mushroom(can use another chicken if you dont like mushroom)
1 8oz bag of cheddar, colby, or colby jack cheese
1lb hamburger meat

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown meat, drain. Combine meat and soups in skillet you browned meat in. I add about 1 can of water. In a greased 13x9 pan pour soup in and then add cheese on top and then tots. Cook for 30 minutes. My kids love to add ketchup on top and I serve with french style green beans.

Texas Stew(my own creation)

1lb hamburger meat
6 cans(small) or 3(large) tomato sauce
1 cans Ranch Style Beans
1 can Corn
1 can Peas
1 can sliced potatoes
1 pkg mild chili mix

Brown meat, drain. Add to crockpot or dutch oven meat, all veggies, tomato sauce and chili mix. Heat on stove for about 15 minutes or in crock pot for however long you like. This is also good served with sour cream and a little cheese on top with cornbread.

Hi, here are some simple, but good, recipes:

Meatloaf

2 lbs. ground beef
half a bell pepper, diced
half a small onion, diced
2 eggs
1 cup ketchup, more if desired

Preheat oven to 350 degress. Mix all ingredients together in a casserole dish, top with more ketchup. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until done. You might want to put a cookie sheet under your casserole dish, depending on how fatty your hamburger meat is.

Beef Stroganoff

1 lb. ground beef
16 oz. sour cream
1 container of fresh sliced mushrooms
2 Tbsp. onion flakes
2 cups egg noodles prepared following noodle package
instructions

Brown ground beef and onion flakes in skillet and drain fat. Add sour cream and mushrooms and heat until mushrooms are soft and have become smaller. Serve over egg noodles.

Burritos

1 lb. ground beef or turkey
2 Tbsp. onion flakes
1 1/2 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. red pepper
Salt & pepper to taste

Begin cooking meat in skillet and add all other ingredients and cook until brown. Drain fat. I like to stir in refried beans with the meat, but my family doesn't like that, so I serve them seperately. I also serve diced tomatoes, black olives, sour cream, avocadoes and shredded cheese, but you should do whatever you like.

Spaghetti/Lasagne

1 lb. ground beef
2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 package fresh sliced mushrooms
1 tomato, cubed
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 Tbsp. cumin
1 Tbsp. oregano
1 Tbsp. basil
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
Spaghetti noodles, prepared according to package
instructions

Brown hamburger and drain. Add all other ingredients except noodles, and cook until tomatoes and mushrooms are soft. The longer you cook the sauce, the better it will be. Serve over noodles.

To make Lasagne with above spaghetti sauce:

Extra ingredients needed:
Large container of ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
1 16 oz. package of shredded mozzarella, set 1/4 of bag
aside to top lasagne
lasagne noodles

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a casserole dish, put a thin layer of sauce, then a layer of lasagne noodles, prepared according to package instructions, then sauce, then a mixture of ricotta cheese and mozzarella, then noodles, sauce, cheese, and keep on going until your dish is full or you've used all your ingredients. Top with reserved mozarella. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.

Enjoy!

If you want cheap, easy and tasty try stir ins with Hamburber Helper. One thing my husband loves is when I mix (your choice of flavors) it with a can of stewed tomatos and onions. You can also add to vegetable soup for a more filling soup. One of my favorites is to place cooked hamburger on top of corn chips with onions and cheese, bake in the oven at 350 degrees to create awesome nachos. Of course it is fun to play around with topping you like and create your own style of a nacho meal.

I made up this recipe myself. Its quick and easy. Brown and season the ground beef in a pan. Make mash potatoes. In a casserole dish put the ground beef in first when done. Then spread the mash potatoes onto the ground beef. (like if you were frosting a cake). Grate some cheese on top and microwave so the cheese can melt and there you go dinner is served. Sounds a little weird but my husband loves it! Let me know what you think if you try it. Have a great day!

Our family's favorite... I can eat the whole pan of it.
Shepphard's Pie
1 lb ground beef
1 can tomato soup
2 can Del Monte whole green beans
a bunch of mashed potatoes

stir in the soup and beans with the cooked and drained beef. Put in a 9x13 casserole dish. Top with mashed potatoes. Bake at 350 about 20-30 mins or until heated through. Oh, I am hungry for it now! Some variations are to add corn or sauteed onions and garlic to the beef, and to sprinkle cheese on it as a garnish.

I got the Pilsbury Hamburger cook book (Sept. 2006, it has a picture of big cheesy pasta shells on it) you know the ones you see in the check out isle in grocery stores? Anyways it has tons of great recipes, but also tips on using and preparing ground beef. You can order it here. http://www.pillsbury.com/find/default.aspx?

here is a dish my husband gave me...it is european..

Pasties

1-2 boxes of pastry sheets from the frozen section
1 lb ground beef
1 rutabaga shredded (peel skin first)
1 large potato shredded (peel skin first)
2 carrot shredded
2 celery shredded
1 cup frozen peas
1 onion finely chopped
salt and pepper to taste (use plenty of pepper)

Thaw out the pastry sheets.
Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly.
Place a large mound of mixture on one side of the pastry sheet. (shape it like a small mini meatloaf...the pastry will stretch over it so don't worry about making it too big) Moisten with water the edges of the pastry. Fold over the sheet and press firmly together with a fork. Poke several holes on the top. Place on a cookie sheet covered with tinfoil. Rub top of pastry with milk. Bake at 325 for about 30 minutes...or until golden on top.
