I have used the floppy seat cover for the past year.
I take it everywhere. When it is dirty, I just throw it in the washing machine.
I love the floppy b/c it has little loops so you can hook on toys and a pocket for a bottle or sippy cup.
I know someone else posted this same request not too long ago but I can't find that topic. I am looking at getting one of those shopping cart/high chair covers for my little boy but have no idea which brand/type is the best so I am seeking y'alls input. I am looking for one that is easy to "install", easy to clean, and can be used in a shopping cart and restaurant type high chairs.
Thank you in advance for your help!
K.
A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who provided their input. I truly appreciate y'all taking the time out of your busy schedules to write a response. I enjoyed reading them all.
I wanted to share that I am interested in one of these covers not because I am a "germ-a-holic". My 7 month old boy likes to put his mouth on EVERYTHING (unlike his two older sisters who are now 8 and 4), including the metal and plastic parts of a shopping cart. I know I can wipe everything down with a clorox wipe but I would rather him suck on fabric or have him play with his toys than worry about the shopping cart or high chair materials. Just like my own mom, I throw pretty much everything into the washing machine so washing one more item is no big deal for me.
Mamasource is just an awesome resource and here is how my situation turned out...one mom who responded is just "sweet as sugar" since she offered to give me her Floppy Seat Shopping Cart Cover that worked great for her daughter. I went to her house to get it yesterday and it is just beautiful! The quality is excellent, the color is just gorgeous, and it folds into itself to become a carrying bag with handles. What a superb design! I am so excited to use it on my next shopping or restaurant visit. Michelle and I chit-chatted for a short time and I really enjoyed getting to know her a little more. No words can fully describe how much I greatly appreciate her generosity! Since Michelle was so generous to pass it on to me, I will certainly pass it on to another mom when the time comes. Smiles and Blessings always! :>)

K.. You have to get yours from http://www.kozypalcartcovers.com/ let them know that M. Aguirre sent you. These are custom made, you can look through their fabrics. I LOVED mine!! They are very easy to clean, are made with options and best of all, fit on anything! I hope you love yours as much as I loved mine! I actually give these out to people as a shower gift, they are always loved!

hi, I got my shopping cart/ high chair cover at babies r us. they have them at target and walmart. I forget the brand of mine as my son is now 2 and we don't use it anymore. But it was all fabric so it was easy to through in the wash once a week!!
Go with the Boppy or Floppy Seat cover. Mine is now on child number two and has held up great. It is nice and thick which helps hold little one in place and it folds up into itself with handles and washes out great. We're big fans-
I bought mine on www.etsy.com. I absolutely love it. It's well made, and I recommed the seller. It's super padded, it fits every cart/highchair we've tried, and it comes with it's own belt (so your kiddo won't chew on the icky store belt).

We just did a review on these, you could win a gift certificate to Paisley Pineapple, check it out! I love their shopping cover carts.

Someone already recommended this one but...we have a cart/highchair cover from Kozypals Kart covers and LOVE it! I had one from them with my first two kids and ordered a new one for baby #3. I love all the selections of material they have and you can even send them your own if you dont see one you like. It fits all shopping carts I have used, even the over-sized ones at SAMS. When my son was younger (he is now 1) he would lay down in it an fall asleep.
Good luck
I don't know brands to recommend to you, but I did learn along the way, to make sure you buy one big enough to fit on the highchairs 7 especially in the shopping carts!!! Thanks for listening to my advice and good luck :) Jules
I saw that same request not too long ago. I have to agree with the one woman that replied that unless you wash that cover everytime you use it...whats the point? You simply will be giving those "germs" a place to live until the next time you use it. I am, by no stretch of the imagination, a germaphobe. I use Lysol wipes to wipe down carts and highchairs. Its easy and disposible. The whole, "they have to be exposed to germs" theory, is a good one, although not one you want. My vote is to wipe things down and hope for the best.
Just an FYI...I worked in a restaurant for alot of years...THAT is where the germs are. Not as much as the shopping cart. I learned to wipe the highchair down WAY more than the carts. After all, kids are eating and salivating in those. Not to mention the chewed up food crud left in all the cracks and crevises.
Good Luck in your search,
Margaret :)
I am a fan of the Floppy seat. You can get them at Babies r us for sure and I think walmart and other stores carry them now too. When my son was born almost 7 years ago it could only be odered online. Now that I have a newborn, I am seeing them in stores.
I have the Floppy Seat, which I like very much. It fits over every shopping cart (except double ones) and every high chair. It washes easily and they're easy to find (BRU).
I don't agree that germs are "living" on it. After all, you're protecting your child from the germs on the surface which are on the bottom of the cover. YOur child touches the top. And while I agree that exposure to germs is necessary, it's not worth getting my baby sick because somebody had sick children in a cart. Normal germs = ok. Sickie germs = no! And people take sick children to the store all the time.
The seat is also very comfy and if you've ever had a small child fall asleep in the grocery cart, it's much nicer when their head is resting on a padded cover.
I have a Floppy, got it at Babies R Us, but I have seen them at Resale shops all over Houston. The Boppy fits everything that I have used it on and washes easily in the washing machine.
i think ours was an even flow. basically your looking for one that has four sides and fits both. we got one from a friend that was a play mat and a cart/chair cover. it only covered the front bottom and back so he would be able to munch on the sides. it was terrible and hard to get on. we wash ours all the time. it was navy and fadded pretty badly so look for a lighter color if you want.
I am so glad you asked about this, I was shopping and researching for one yesterday. I found a really nice homemade one on Ebay. There were many listings on Ebay but I went with a lady that had a lot of good feedback, the cover fit all shopping carts and high chairs, had a built in belt that then attached to the cart with another clip. I paid $32 for it. I am looking forward to receiving the one I ordered soon, it should be here in a few days. If you interested I could send you the link and give you my feedback when I receive it. Also I found some really cool looking one's on Etsy, but they were more costly. Happy Shopping!
I bought mine on Ebay 2 yrs ago for around $60 but now I see them in Babies R Us for almost half the price. Mine is all fabric with elastic and you just stretch it onto the basket. It covers EVERYTHING. Only the bottom part gets dirty and your child never touches that part so it doesn't transfer to your child.
I use mine on shopping carts and high chairs and even booster seats for our 2 yr old. The best investment I ever made. I plan to get another one for our other daughter once she is able to sit up.
And I wanted to comment about the hand sanitizer gels. They make alcohol free hand sanitizer gels and wipes. The wipes are better because you are actually wiping on the dirt instead of just spreading it around. You can find them at HEB.
