Seeking San Antonio Advice

We are planning a trip to San Antonio and I have been reading all the posts on here for advice and just have a couple questions that I have not seen covered.
1. Are the passbook Sea World coupons worth it or can we find just as good online? I don't have one so I was hoping not to have that added expense. (we are not usually very good about remembering the coupons and have wasted it in years past) Or does anyone have coupons that they would be willing to share? :) Any money saving advice is appreciated.
2. We are considering doing Schlitterbahn - with a 3 and 1yo is it worth it or will we be just as happy with the Sea World park, zoo, and indoor hotel pool. We are also considering Landa Park, any good? Water is their fave thing to do but have heard Sch. might be better for older ages.
3. We are staying at Comfort Suites near Sea World, has anyone else stayed here? Comments?
4. McKenna kids museum or San Antonio kids museum? Both look cool but not sure which would be better for our ages and abilities. Wanting indoor ideas b/c I don't think we are old enough for IMAX and I don't care about going to the malls (unless we get really bored and rained out!).
Any other helpful advice would be great! Thanks!

we just got back-- we stayed at the NEW (marriott) Fairfield Inn and Suites just across the hwy. from Seaworld: ###-###-#### FREE shuttle to/from the park with cont. breakfast included used my AAA discount-- great deal!
went to www.seaworld.com for silver passport season pass (we may go back in the fall) just a few $s more for pass than the 2-day ticket and you also get great coupon books for food/games/gift shop 30% discounts and feeding animals.
We went to the riverwalk one day (stayed at the WESTIN for my husbands business part of the trip) very nice! the kiddos and I went on the river boat and to the IMAX (w/ 6 and 3 year old) at the RIVERCENTER mall go to sanatonio website for discounts too
Happy trip planning !

If it is the Comfort Suites off of Alamo Downs Pkwy(something like that), then we stayed there last May. It was very new then and very clean. It was nice to be able to put the toddler in the living area to sleep and then close the door where we slept. Plenty of places to eat around there. There's a mall close by, too. And a Target. The indoor pool was also nice to come back to after a day out. Hope it is still as nice for you on your trip!

There is a splash park (not part of the actual water park) at Sea World that my daughter had a blast in! It was great that that was open since the actual waterpark was not open yet for the season. So don't forget your swimsuit.

We did the San Antonio Museum downtown. I think it is perfect for your childs' ages. It was not expensive, and you can find coupons for it online at the SAVE website. They can exeriment with big magnets, pull a giant bubble up over their body with a hula hoop. There's a whole lot of pretend play stuff there- post office clerk, dentist, shop keeper, etc. Lots of little nooks and crannies to explore thru the whole place. I have never heard of the other museum to compare it to. After leaving the museum, it was nice to walk around the Riverwalk/Alamo area.

Hi Angela,

Our family has been to both Schlitterbahn and Sea World, kids now ages 9, 10, 10, and 12. Our first trip to Schlitterbahn was when my youngest was 5 and I'd have to say I probably wouldn't do it with younger kids, unless you are okay with just sitting in the kiddie section all day. Most of the waterslides are geared for bigger kids with some scary deeper areas and some even dumping you in the river. We had a life jacket on the 5 year old and he was fine, but one of the twins at 6 would get freaked out when she was tumbled under the water in the faster water.

Sea World would probably much more fun for the kids and they have a great water park area too. You'll find they won't be big enough to ride most of the water slides, but since it's included in your Sea World admission, it won't be such a big deal to stick to the lazy river and wave pool and it will be a nice cooling down break after walking the rest of the park.

The San Antonio Children's museum is absolutely awesome. We spent almost an entire afternoon there and the kids were busy the entire time. Lots of great hands on stuff for them to do. Your 1 year old may not appreciate any of it, but your 3 year old will have a blast. We've not been to the McKenna museam, so can't comment.

Just my two cents! Have a wonderful vacation!
