My son will be 5 in May and I am looking for some Martial Arts classes in the Plymouth/Canton area that he will enjoy and benefit from... Do any of you have suggestions or experiences you could share?? Thanks!
Where are you located. My son is in Karate, Tang Soo Do, and his school is at Telegraph and Van Born area. I also know someone in Kung Fu thru the Livonia Rec center.
There is a Taw Kwon Do class offered for kids through age 16 (and soon to add mom/dad too) through the Summit in Canton. I believe the next session starts after Easter? You can check it out on their on-line catalog. My kids go and they love it (kids are 9 and 7). My daughter is going for her yellow belt soon. Instructors provided through Olympian Chung Do Kwan of Canton.
We go to World Class Institute of Martial Arts too, but not tiny tigers - we started in Superkids Karate and now my son and I are enrolled in regular karate to get our black belt some day. Instructors are very patient, price is reasonable and whole place feels like home. Being a SAHD makes it easy to attend the early classes, but they have them every day from Monday through Saturday. We tried other programs first through the community ed but they had no control over the classes and did not know how to work with kids. Joining WCIMA was the best thing we ever did.
