I live on the north side but make the trek to River Forest for the best doctor I have ever seen - Carlos Reynes. He's an MD who practices holistic medicine. Very thorough, intelligent and nice. His number is ###-###-####. Best of luck!
My New Years resolution was to take better care of my 45 yo self. Have not been seeing eye to eye with my Doctor for a few years - after a 15 year relationship. Any recomnendations? Looking for someone taking new patients (you'd be surpirsed how many doctors are not) and who is open to natural or homeopathic options instead of Prescribing a pill all the time and will do annual ob/gyn tests. Preferably downtown or near north side practicing out of Northwestern. Thanks!

It's been many years, but when I lived in that area I really loved my doctor, Dr. Lynda Lane, who is in the Lakeview/north Lincoln park area near the lake.

I highly recommend Dr. Maria Reyes at Women's Health Resources, out of Illinois Masonic Hospital (Advocate). ###-###-####. Office is at 3000 N. Halsted. I have seen her for about 8 or 9 years and she is great. She doesn't jump to meds immediately, always follows up with my test results, remembers conversations from my previous visits, does annual ob/gyn tests, etc. I have Humana HMO and yet Dr. Reyes has successfully referred me to good specialists and physical therapy when needed. She is warm and attentive and listens and cares. If she ever moves her practice, I will follow her.
I absolutely love my internist, Dr Shelia Bhagavan, at Primary Care Mediacal Associates in Lincoln Park. She is so thorough and always remembers conversations we've had. She will do gyne exams, and doesn't over prescribe medications. You can look her up on yelp. I refer everyone I know to her, and everyone feels the same way. You feel like you're talking to a friend. She's completely non judgemental and doesn't shy away from "embarrassing" questions.
I've recently been seeing a MD specializing in integrative internal medicine, so she is very open to more homeopathic approaches. She is located on Erie Street, and is part of Northwestern. Her name is Theri Raby and she has a website you can google. I think it's the rabyinstitute at Northwestern.
I've seen Dr. Kellyn Marks for probably 10 years. She is part of Northwestern: 201 E. Huron on the 12th Floor, 312/926-3627. She has a kind but no-nonesense demeanor. She is a traditional doctor, though does not order a lot of tests or prescribe pills for every ailment. For years, Dr. Marks did my paps (I had to switch over to an ob/gyn last year due to problems in that area). I believe there is a homeopathic group at Northwestern. You could call the number above and inquire about a doctor in that group if you prefer that type of care.
I highly recommend Dr. Anne Suh.

My docs fit that description, they are much more holistic than I'd expect an MD to be, but they are located in Oak Park, practicing out of West Suburban and Oak Park hospital.
If you'd like the info anyway, let me know.
