Congrats Nicole. I have 18 month old twin sons and even though I didn't have any desire for nursing tops with my first, something about baring both breasts made me want nursing tops too. Unfortunately, they're pretty expensive and not incredibly attractive in general. Have you tried motherhoodnursing.com? It's a division of Motherhood Maternity with more variety, colors and sizes. The Motherhood stuff was by far the most attractive, comfortable and affordable I found. Motherwear.com has a lot, but it's expensive and not the nicest looking stuff -- seems to look a lot better in the catalog than in person. I found a couple of things at expressiva.com too. My greatest survival tip is to get a few of motherhood's nursing tanks and use those to turn everything into a nursing top. It's a tank with a built in bra with the release clips on the straps. Those were by far my favorites.
As for your nursing/support questions, I know you've moved to the suburbs, but I want to connect you with my mothers nursing twins group. They meet monthly at Sweet Pea's Yoga studio on the north side of Chicago. This group of moms has been a great lifeline for me....still nursing at 18 months. In fact, we went out last night and I skipped a feeding at bedtime and was amazed this morning to find that I was really engorged and sore. I couldn't believe I was still producing that much after this long. We had a bit of a challenge at the start too, be kind to yourself and hang in there. They will get it and it will get easier for you. The group leader's name is Denyse French. She's a Bradley birthing method instructor, mother of 3 (1 set of G/G twins) with her 4th due very soon. Her email is ____@____.com group just met last week, but you might be able to connect with them via email and get some suggestions sooner rather than later.
Good luck. Feel free to email me directly if you need anything. ____@____.com
