Can any one give me advice on the best way to check the background on daycares. I just visited Tutor Time I have found a number of bad reports about it as well as good reports, I am not sure what I should do. Please advise.
I don't know of anything official- but I did not like Tutor Time. I did really like the Kindercare on Ogden near Rosati's in Aurora. If you want more of an explanation let me know.
I'm not sure how to check either, but I highly recommend Mary Beth Stasny in Bolingbrook. It's in home care and I would fall over dead with shock if she had a bad report of any kind any place.
She's under the mamasource directory under Mary's Little Lambs, and has the most shining recommendations I have ever seen.
Skip the searching and use her! I'm more happy with her than I thought I would be with anyone!
All About Children, All About Kids, Children's Creative Corner - all great. Used to work at them and they are really good about investing back into the daycare.
There are sites that allow you to rate daycares, but that is kinda biased. I had someone rate my daycare badly but when she emailed me in response to a rebuttal I made, I had NEVER had someone by that name as a daycare parent. So, it can be a fellow provider trying to knock down the competition.

My son was at Adventures in Learning in Aurora and we loved it. So clean and nice and so were the teachers it is located on Shoreline Rd. We would have stayed there but it was a lot easier since I take the train to transfer him to the Adventures in Learing in Naperville. We like both locations but prefered the one in Aurora.
