I am a single Dad. I am looking for playgroups and maybe some friends for my 4 year old boy.
Hello, I actually have a three and half year old little boy named D.. We live in Lynwood which is pretty close to Long Beach. My son is in real need of establishing some friends besides mommy and I think setting up play dates would be excellent. Kids need playmates especially at this age when they have so much energy to burn! Let me know! Thanks

Parks and Recs have some good classes for meeting kids. Also all the sports are starting programs for younger kids now. AYSO (soccer) I believe is starting at age 4 or 5. Sign ups for soccer is going on now. Just check to see what region is closer to you. Also Baseball leagues are starting programs for younger kids too. Definately a season sport would allow him to meet some buddies.
Hi D., I live in LB, and also have a four-year-old son. I have been looking for a playgroup for my son too. My son has little buddies at daycare, but not many outisde of school. Would love to meet other kiddies in the area!
There are some good resources through Long Beach Parks and Recreation. Look online and see if you can get him in a class. That should be a good place to meet other parents. They have some cool classes that you participate in with your child and they offer them at night too. If you need any other advice I have lived in the Wrigley area of Long Beach for 27 years.
