Meetup.com has a Westchester/LaGrange group. My friend belongs to that group. I live in Oak Park and am in the Oak Park group. Great way to meet people and get out and do things.

They have different meet ups for all kinds of interests.
I belong to the moms meet up in Downers Grove.

Have you tried looking for a playgroup on meetup.com? If you haven't, it's a great website. I've joined a few M.'s Groups/Meetups and it's been a great experience so far.
Hi, I'm a member of Mothers & More (the dupage county chapter). dupagemothersandmore.org or mothersandmore.org Take a look at it - its been really wonderful for us and WELL worth the money to join. You get your money's worth after the first or second event. They also have individual playgroups and a great clothing/toy re-sale twice a year.
