Seeking Playgroup in raleigh,NC

I have a 3yr old daughter who I would like to get involved in some social interaction at little to no cost. I have checked into preschools, the little gym, etc, but really do not have any extra cash to enroll her in these activities. I am new to the raleigh area and have not met many mothers with young children. We go to playgrounds on nice days but the people are random and I would rather get her around a group of kids she could become friends with and meet up with on a regular basis.

What can I do next?

Hi B.! My name is S. and I am also new to the area. We moved into Wake Forest over the summer. I am a SAHM to a 4 year old girl and a 2 1/2 year old boy. My daughter is going to be starting kindergarten in July and we can not afford preschool here either for our son, so we have been looking for a playgroup as well. I would love to get together sometime and maybe we can be the start of something? Or I can also refer you to The Mom's Club, it is an international organization in most large cities that offers support to SAHM's and hosts organized playgroups by age. They have a website and I know there is a group close to here because my neighbor is involved with them. I was a member back home and really enjoyed it. Anyway, good luck and keep in touch!

Hi B.,

I'm new to the Triangle too and I am having a bit of the same problem. I have a 4 yo daughter and a 21 mo old son that I'd like to get involved in some steady social interaction a little to no cost. I'm orig from NY, lived in PA for 4 yrs and now I'm in Durham. I haven't really met as many moms as I thought I'd meet by now. I go to storytime at the library but everyone just leaves after wards w/out much interacting. Same deal with the playground.... random and irregular. I really would like to meet up with another mom or two and establish something for the kids. Anyway, some good ole girl talk never hurts the moms either!

PM me if you'd like.

They have playgroups and other activities. I am a member of the Creedmoor Moms group. I am also from the Northeast (grew up in Maine, have lived in NH, MA, VT). I wish you the best of luck and hope you can connect with the North Raleigh group!
