Seeking Pediatric Dentist in Edmond

Could someone tell me if they have used a good pediatric dentist in the N.W side of OKC or in Edmond. My 4 year old son is terrified of the dentist, or of the restriction of the chair (LOL). We have been to a dentist twice. The last time we went he had a cavity. The dentist we are using said he (my son) would have to drink all of a liquid sedative before he would work on him and if he (my son) still refused or they weren't able to do the procedure, we would still have to pay for the procedure fee ($283.00). Plus we have to have a physical from our pediatrician before we can schedule a visit which the receptionist said probably won't be until November. This seems crazy to me, because as a mom, I don't want to put my (4 yr.) son through this. Does anyone have any suggestions? We have still not resolved the problem, and now he has complained about that tooth.

What can I do next?

I, too, have a 4 year old son in Pre-K and we have a fabulous dentist. He isn't a peds dentist, per say, but he is wonderful with him. His name is Geoffery Roubik and is located on NW 63rd, 3300 NW 63rd is the address I believe. His phone number is ###-###-#### and the recp. name is Mary Jo. My husband and I use him as well. Our son has a heart defect and Dr. Roubik always makes sure my son has had his antibiotics before he sees him. His staff, who is also wonderful, also makes sure that he has had his antibiotics before they clean his teeth. We actually have an appt with him today. He had a cavity a few months ago and we took him in, it was taken care of without any drama or problems. We also live in NW Edmond and drive to him for any kind of problems. He is well worth the drive. Hope this helps.

We use Dr. Brent Moody. My daughter had a bad experience at a previous dentist that wasn't a pediatric. Dr. Moody is wonderful. My daughter had to have a cavity filled, when she finished she was smiling. Dr. Moody is by Mercy Hospital.
Good Luck

I know the feeling. I hate the dentist too, but I have a 3 year old and we have already had to have a tooth pulled. We used Dr. Thai-An Doan (Pediatric Specialist). She is located at 11318 N May Ave Suite B Okc. The number is ###-###-####.

She is awesome. She really knows her stuff and is very gentle and kind. The staff there is great too. Toys in the lobby (hard to get my son out of there), TVs playing kid movies, cartoons in every room. We had to have my son put to sleep to have his tooth pulled and everything was great! I hope this helps you. I know it is a very stressful thing to go through. GOOD LUCK!!

Dr. Thai Ann Doan on North May (between 122nd & Hefner) is wonderful. My 4 yr old had never been to the dentist before and was scared. Her entire staff is wonderful. They have tv's in each room playing cartoons and movies to distract the children. When my little boy went Charlotte's Web was playing. He was so into the movie he didn't care what they had to do. He even had a small cavity that had to be fixed on a separate appointment. It was very quick and painless (the whole appointment was less than 20 min for the cavity.) I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Cheng with Dental Depot is an adult and pediatric dentist; if your child is 4 and likes trains, he would love Dr. Cheng's office at 15th and Broadway

We've been to several crazy dentist who claimed to specialize in pediatrics but were obviously not qualified. We see Dr Brackett in Yukon and it's been an amazing experience! I never knew a trip to the dentist with my son could be so easy. Hope you find someone!

My family has been using the services of Dr. Barbara Chappell for about 12 years now. She used to a nurse before becoming a family dentist and she is excellent with kids as well as with adults. Her staff is wonderful too. My kids love her and when they were younger they even used to ask me when they would get to see her again for a check-up. She will work with kids that are anxious, esp. about unpleasant procedures and try to make them as comfortable as possible.

Her office is located at:
5536 N Western Ave
Oklahoma City, OK 73118

And her phone number is: ###-###-####
The receptionist's name is Linda and she is very helpful. Let her know about your concerns when you call and see what they recommend.

I live in NW Edmond and it only takes me about 20 minutes to get to her office. It is WELL WORTH the drive!

If you want to stay in Edmond, I have also heard good things about Robert Steele, a pediatric dentist in Edmond. We have never gone to him but several friends of ours have and they have all praised him.

Hope this helps!
