I am in search of a Moms' group in the Northland that is open to working moms. I am a teacher and work during the school year, but am off during the summer. My husband is a coach and he is busy a lot with teaching and coaching. I have two boys, (4 1/2 year-old and 14 month old). I would love to be a part of a group that meets in the evenings and has other children that my boys can interact with and that I can have some time to chat and make new friends up here. I live near Line Creek Elementary on Waukomis, but would go any area near Parkville, Gladstone, or Liberty. I will be teaching in the NKC district next year and am leaving my position in Blue Valley after this year---a very long drive from my house. I am free most evenings except Fridays during football season--my husband is a high school football coach. Any ideas, please let me know. I would love to get to meet other moms that either stay-at home or work.
I had some great responses from other working moms who would like to have a group to meet with others. I think it would be a wonderful way to socialize and be around others that are similar. As one mom had commented, just because we work, it does not mean that we do not want to get a chance to meet other moms. I know as a teacher, I spend a big part of my day with other students, so I do not always have a lot of time with adults. If anyone is interested let me know and we can see if we can organize something.
Hi Jenniger - I am in Mommy and Me and we have a great group. We have a monthly meeting and lots of activities throughout the month. We'd love to have you check us out. I also joined the meetup.com group in Liberty recently. Most of the meet ups are in the morning but there are some on the weekends. I'm sure that there are other mothers that would appreciate a meet up in the late afternoon. My son Michael is 4 also. I hope that we get a chance to meet and let the boys play.

Hi J.. I just moved to Liberty a week ago and am a SAHM of a 7 1/2 month old little girl. I found several playgroups on meetup.com. I joined the Liberty one and I believe this one is meeting up in the evening this week. I also found one on Yahoo but I think a lot of their meetups are during the day. If you want more information on these groups let me know. Or if you want I wouldn't even mind getting together sometimes. I know my daughter is younger than your boys but she loves being around other kids. Hope this helps and if you want you can message me anytime.
J., I live in the Northland and work full time. I'd love to find/create a group that meets in the evenings. Just because you work doesn't mean that you don't have a need to get together with other moms. I have a 6 month old son, but he's starting to be interested in people and I'd love to give him some new experiences. I'm free most evenings too. At least, nothing I can't schedule around.
