I am a brand-new mom of a beautiful son looking to connect with mom resources in the Norwood Park area of Chicago. We are new to this part of the city and are still learning about our new neighborhood and what's available here. I am on maternity leave now but will be returning to work after the first of the year, so I will not a stay-at-home mom (wish I could be!) but I will still like to get involved in a group with other moms if possible. you might try to start your own group or take a mommy and me music class such as kindermusik or music together. also, portage park center for the arts on the northwest side offers early childhood classes for little ones and parents.

i too am looking to join a playgroup in this area, I have 2 very active boys 2.5 and 1yr.
i would love to get together on a reg basis, to intro my boys to new people and get my self some adult contact.
I always look at he meet.com msg board but like most of you said there groups meet to far from my area and its hard to get there with to kids and t otry and do it around ther nap times.

A good place to start to meet would be at the Wounder Works kids place on North Ave.
The kids can play and we can talk about activaties and places we cont. to meet at.

I live by the Harlem Irving Mall and teach at a school in Norwood Park! I have a three year old daughter and would love to join a Mom's group in my area!
go to meetup.com and join there moms group. The website for for all kinds of groups so look around and see what they have. I joined the moms group and you can set your preferences to notify you via e-mail of upcoming events and you can see people that are going to attend or not attend.

C. - I live on the NW side and I am also a meetup.com member and they do not have things that are around our area. I am a SAHM of a 20 month old daughter, we live near the HIP bordering Norridge........we would be interested in joining a play group.

I am a mother of a 2 year old daughter and I too am looking for a playgroup around my neighborhood. I live around the Harlem- Irving Plaza area. I have done research in the "meet-up" groups etc and there are no playgroups in my area.
Maybe we can form our own playgroup. I saw another response from a mother that lives in our general area. It would be good to meet new friends and have our children be able to play together. : )
