Seeking Insurance Broker or a Great Individual Plan

hi there, I currently have an individual Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas PPO plan for myself and son (I'm a single mom) which for two of us pay $430/month (I'm 46 so they sock it to women for age)...the coverage is so crummy even with a PPO. I wondered if anyone had an insurance broker they might recommend or if you're on an individual plan you love, please let me know. I'm new to Texas so completely at a loss as to what other health companies there even are out there. in CA, I had an insurance broker who knew all the plans and zing--made choosing one for my specific needs so easy. Thanks! :-)
