We currently live in Plano, but desire a smaller school district for my son. We visited a nice new home development in Sachse today that is zoned to Wylie ISD. We know nothing of the district and are in need of some advice. Has anyone had experience with Cox Elementary, Burnett Middle, Harrison Intermediate and Wylie High School?

You will love these schools. I had two children that went through Wylie Schools. My daughter loved it and is now at UT in Austin with a 4.00 grade point average. My son is now attending law school and did very well at UT as well. Very caring district. Visit Wylies web site. If you have questions email their school board. We had a wonderful experience there.
Hello. I actually attended Wylie High School and graduated in 2000. If you are looking for a great education you may be searching in the wrong direction. I don't feel like I got the best education that I am entitled to. The school has changed quite a bit in the 6 years that I have been out. Who knows, they may have restructured their curriculum by now since they are growing so rapidly. However, this is a district that I would recommend. While I was in school, I didn't like Wylie because of it's size and small town feel, but looking back I am glad I wasn't in a huge district. Like I said, if you are looking for exceptional education this may not be the place. If you are looking for safety and comfort this may work for you.
We love Wylie ISD! I have one that is in 3rd and another that will enter K in the fall. our experience with the education level has been great. I was worried about the school district when we first moved to Wylie 10 years ago, but it has improved so much. My daughter goes to Birmingham Elem,so no 1st hand knowledge of Cox Elem, but understand it to be a great place. Hope this helps
