You can find some amazing stuff on there.

Regarding hooking up with others:

you might want to get involved in your older son's PTA (Parent Teacher Association) at school, take your little one to free library offerings for kids, hang out at playgrounds, and in Lafayette there is the WOW (World of Wonders) for kids, also with extra programs.

Hi L.! I don't have a exercise machine, but did want to say welcome and I totally understand. I am a divorced mom with two kids 3 and 6 who is in first grade. Since daycare is outrageous I am here doing before and after school care and one little boy during the day few days a week. I haven't started dating again, go days sometimes and not really talk to another grown up, hee hee. Granted it is my choice, but I do understand how you can feel alone at times. When the kids all leave, my kids are in bed I am so wiped I cannot even imagine playing catch up with my friends on the phone, hee hee.
WELCOME. Find a good group in your area, MOMS Club, MOPS, you can connect with other moms in your area. I am not too far away, I live in Broomfield.

Have you put an add on Craigslist.com? If not or you haven't found what you're looking for here I would look there. Sometimes they have free stuff or very cheap. Good luck.

PS, I am from Northern CA too, Chico. I grew up there and I moved to Denver in 1998. I definitely miss Chico and Northern CA!
