I am currently trying to find my 11 month old a new pediatrician who is preferably in S.F. but would also be willing to travel outside the city as well. We are searching for that "perfect" pediatrician who follows mostly eastern medicine but also uses western medicine when needed. Someone who takes the time to answer our questions Our baby is not vaccinated and we still don't know whether we will do any of them at all. I want to find someone who is willing to support our decision in this as well as other eastern style philosophies as well. The crux is.... we want a pediatrician who excepts insurance. We are currently switching our health insurance to blue cross. Most pediatricians I have found that are holistic do not accept insurance.
You can try the Health and Wellness center, part of UCSF, located on Webster. I went to a doctor there called Erica Goode. She told me there is a pediatrician there. We moved to Marin, but we would have tried him if we had stayed.

We use Christine Ciaverella who is in Albany. She's a PA as well as homeopath and very smart.
I don't know if she takes blue cross but it's worth a try.
