Seeking Child Care Options in Blue Springs Area

I have a eleven year old daughter that is in school most of the time but, school lets out for the summer and I can't drag her to my work everyday that I work. I work part-time and usually can cover the short time between the time I leave for work and the time in which she gets on the school bus. I have two wonderful neighbors that help me, but they can't watch my daughter all day over the summer months. I really need to find someone that can watch her only 2-3 days a week for when I work and is reasonably priced. As you might be aware working only 2-3 days a week doesn't allow me much to work with as far as cash. Her biological father(my fiance) pays for everything from shelter and utilities to some of the grocery bills. I cover what he can't. My daughter is a really good girl, but the state law says that at her age she can only be allowed up to one hour of unsupervised time alone. Plus that the poor girl would be bored silly if I left her unattended for as long as I worked. Yet I would never do that because I have issues with criminals and there is no home phone. Please could someone help me find a good sitter at a fair price? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I live in the Blue Springs area and might be able to help you out. I have a 7 year old son who would love someone to play with. My mom lives with us and works at the school and is out for the summer and might like the opportunity to make a little extra money. Just drop me an email and let me know, ____@____.com

Thanks,
T.

Does your daughter have any friends that have moms that stay home. I know my mother used to watch one of my friends during the summer and it was a nice way of seeing my friend and my mom made some extra cash. I run an in-home daycare in my house but I have toddlers here and no school age. Not by choice I am a student by evenings and don't do before and after school care. There are plenty of in home situations but I would look for someone who has other children that are going to be there around their age. It would make it for a great summer that way. Best of luck to you.

M., I would suggest that maybe you contact the school or pta at the school and see if there are any stay at home moms who have children her age. Maybe a teacher at the school that is off during the summer that has a child close to her age. Maybe the person would even trade with you if you would watch their child an evening or Saturday. I would think she would prefer to be around some children her age rather than in a home daycare with toddlers or babies. Just a thought. Good luck in your search. C.
