Seeking Care for Pre-k and 3Rd Grader in Savage, MN

My dilemma is that I only work 30 hours a week, don't make alot and can't count on child support. All the daycares I've checked out are $130-140 per week per child and I don't make anywhere near enough to pay those prices. I've tried Scott County but have been told that although I qualify for assistance, there's a year waiting list. If anyone has ANY suggestions or knows of reliable babysitters rather than daycare I'd be so greatful!!

What can I do next?

Hi H.,
I am a stay at home mom in Burnsville (42 and 5) who now does daycare. I have a 2 year old girl, and take care of a 3 year old boy, a 4 mo old girl, and a 9 mo old boy. All are on different schedules, and I have them interminttantly. I do not have a full fleged "daycare" so to speak, as I want to keep it small and comfortable, for the kids. I specialize in odd schedules, and very reasonable prices. If you'd like to talk further, or stop by sometime, feel free to give a call.

Call the CAP agency they have a list of licensed providers, along with the hours and availablitity. It will save you loads of time looking and calling around.

Try looking for and inhouse (in someone else's house, not yours) daycare- we have 4 days a week for $120 in Lakeville.....our old one was 4 days for $120, too...I've found that for parttime, inhomes are so much better! You just have to find one that will let you take the "Discount" and not pay full week...but they are out there! Good luck!
