I have a 1 yr old who is in desperate need of a haircut. He doesnt sit still for more than 30 seconds, I need a very patient stylist. Does anyone know where to go to get a haircut for a young child?
First: I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my question. Second: I went to Cool Cuts 4 Kids at 11619 Bandera Rd. They have 3 locations in San Antonio. This is their first one. ###-###-####. Our stylist was Miss. Birdie, she was great. Very patient. We got a great haircut and picture. My son actually sat still and let her do his hair. The setup is really neat. Very kid friendly.I recommend this place to anyone with kids.
Rios gets a bad name because they are so inexpensive. BUT, I use the location on Blanco and Parliament. The manger, Terri, is the BEST. She is the only one I will let touch my daughters long hair. My son had his first hair cut with her and he is 10 years old now.

There is a Stylist named, "Debra", who works at the Supercuts at the Forum. She is Wonderful! My son, now 2, would cry and squirm his way out of every chair. We tried alllll children's places, even Cool Cuts, but he wouldn't sit still for a second, until we went to the Supercuts at the Forum. Debra was so patient and softspoken and calmed my son down from the second he saw her. During the entire hair cut she made "swishing" noises with her mouth and my son was captivated by her! It was amazing! Not one squirm and he was even smiling! Well, it turns out that these swishing noises she was making were similar to the sounds a baby hears in the womb. Needless to say, we've been going to Debra and no more crying or squirming!
Also, my cousin had her third child at 41 and her third and her two other children are 17 years apart (they are twins). He, too, is a blessing to the entire family. Have fun!

When our son was 1 yr old we took him to Cool Cuts 4 Kids at The Forum. We live in NE San Antonio but I'm sure they are all over San Antonio, if you are from the San Antonio area. All I did was google them. They were really patient and they even gave a little keepsake pack. Hope this helps.
Try Cool Cuts 4 Kids. They have a few locations. Kids can sit in little cars and watch videos or play video games while getting their haircut.
Kool Kutz for Kids is great. They have TVs at every station and your child can choose a movie to watch. For the little ones they have a car to sit in while hair is cut and they take a photo for your child's first cut. They have a shop in the Forum (35, just north of 1604) and another in the Vinyard in the Stone Oak area.
Cool Haircuts for Kids, I think is the name of the place. Find them in the phone directory, I hear they are really good.
