I went to Ob Gyn Women's Centre in Lakewood Ranch for my second baby. Joanne Bevers was my midwife, but you see everyone in the practice. I loved Yvette Brouse and Dr. McCullen, too. I didn't really click with Dr. Alvarez (nothing bad, just didn't click), and he ended up delivering my son---but we were only in the hospital for an hour anyway!
My care during the pregnancy was awesome. I very seldom waited, felt like I had all the time I needed to ask questions, they loved that my three-year-old came along and let her help measure and stuff, and they took really good care of my thyroid issues. I also like delivering at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center!
I also had a doula, which was great--Christina Holmes was my doula, but she has an awesome birth center that opened right after my son was born. There's another birth center (Rosemary) in town, and Christina and some other great midwives do homebirths.
I had my first baby at SMH and it was not such a good experience. I've still heard good things about the practice I was with then, although my midwife has retired. I like Dr. Dyal, and a lot of people love Dr. Towsley, although I've never met him.
Good luck finding a fit! And have a happy, healthy pregnancy!
