When your child is 4, I highly recommend the BYU Preschool.

My oldest DD went to Learning Dynamics and my second DD will start this year. They have a 3yr and a 4yr program that is academically focused, but lots of fun. My DD learned to read in preschool. They have locations in Orem, Saratoga Springs and Highland.

H., I love two preschools. First is Learning Dynamics. They have three locations. It is an academic preschool and is really fantastic at developing early reading skills. My daughter went there for her 3 and 4 year old years. She just finished first grade and is way above her grade level academically. Some of that is her but some of that is the strong foundation in reading she learned at Learning Dynamics. The other school I love is Kids Village. It is 1600 N. and State St. in Orem. I have sent my son there instead of Learning Dynamics for the last two years. He turns 5 in September so he misses the Kindergarten cutoff and will have three years of preschool. Kids Village has a belief that children develop self esteem in many different ways. For example, one child may be really good at art but not as good at reading. They give them exposure to a lot of different things as they feel it is important to help them develop self esteem. They rotate to different workshops in the "village". They have music, art, reading, math, kitchen, history, and science. My son was a lot more active and needed the hands-on learning and movement. They sing and dance and cook. Next year I actually have decided to enroll him in both. He will go MWF to Kids Village and TTH to Learning Dynamics. I love both schools! He is excited to learn to read but he also loves all that Kids Village has too. I hope this is helpful to you. Every child has different needs and may be ready for different things. Good Luck!

I don't know if Spanish Fork is too far south for you, but my son went to Growing Tree Academy and it was fantastic. The teacher has many years experience and also teaches private kindergarten there.

I recommend Utah Valley University preschool (used to be UVSC). It is great like the BYU one but it is first come first serve, and BYU is a lottery so it is a little harder to get in.
