I am a hairstylist and am very wary of home coloring kits. However, the Sally's recommendations are good. Feria I hear is good as long as you have virgin hair, meaning you have no previous color or perm. ( or if you have previous color it is very old and faded and could be cut off if needed to).
Also, since you have dry hair, I suggest doing a deep conditioning treatment 3 days before you color it. (You can buy one at Sally's as well). Dry hair will appear spotty/splothcy with the color. And if you deep condition the hair too soon to coloring it, the color will not stay.
A good tip, is once you apply color to your roots, lightly (not enough to dampem) spritz the rest of your hair with a water bottle. It will make the applicaation of the color on your hair saturate better resulting in a prettier color and coverage.
