craft idea--you need an apple, orange paint, cut out small green stems, cut out small pumpkin (black) face parts (eyes, nose, mouth) , paper

take the apple cut it in half, put orange paint on inside of apple half, make a orange print on a piece of paper. While the paint is wet put the face pieces and stem on. The paint will dry and act like glue.

Snack idea-- "Acorns"
you need candy kisses, chocolate frosting, mini vanilla wafers (sometimes you can find scooby mini vanilla wafers, they have 3 or 4 color wafers)

take kiss out of foil, put choc frosting on the flat bottom of kiss, attach a mini wafer. you end up with something that looks like an acorn, but tastes much better

Pumpkin Bowling! Use 1 liter water bottles decorated with construction paper and placed as bowling pins. Buy a small round-ish pumpkin (or three or four). My daughter loves this game.

Good luck to you!

Craft Ideas:

- Make a scarecrow as a class. Bring in an old flannel shirt, pants, shoes, pillow case (For a face) and stuff to stuff it (hay, batting, etc). This stuff can be provided by the other parents too. Divide the kids into groups of 4-5 and have each one do one part of the body.
-Have the kids go on a 'scavenger hunt' on the playground (or in the classroom). Have them look for acorns, pinecones and leaves. Then have them make something with their findings (fall mural as a class, individual fall art work, etc)
-Pumpkin decorating. Get a small one for each kid and let them paint it.
-Hand painting trees - have the kids use red, yellow, brown and orange finger paints to create a picture of a fall tree on construction paper. they could also do this on a large piece of paper for a large tree for the entire class.

Snacks:
-Trail mix (they can also make this - have individual bowls with each thing - not sure if you can do nuts or not? But have mnms, marshmallows, raisins, craisins, other dried fruit, etc)
-Pumpkin mouse (in paper cups) layered with whip cream
-Pumpkin bread (or pumpkin cream cheese rolls)
-Pumpkin pie

Games:
-Pin the 'something' on the pumpkin

I planned my daughter's first grade fall party. They decorated treat bags (plain brown paper bags with stickers), had 3 stations of games, then cupcakes at the end. The games were: 1. We did a ring the pumpkin game that the kids really enjoyed- I bought a plug in pumpkin (since I couldn't find a real one with a tall enough stem left on it) and a package of the glow up bracelets and they each got 3 turns to toss the rings on the pumpkin stalk. We counted out 5 or 7 steps back from the pumpkin and that is where they stood. 2. I had a bean bag toss game (I bought cheap small craft foamy type pumpkins that fit into the holes) and they had to toss the pumpkins in the holes and total up there score. 3. They each held out there first finger and placed a candy pumpkin (like the candy corn but pumpkin shaped) on it and had to walk so far down the room and back- there were two lines. I think each group had 6 kids, some of the games took longer than the others, so some of the games they were able to do twice. I also printed out a fall theme word-search for them to do if we got finished with the games and needed more stuff to do but we were actually rushed for time. I did get pencils, spider rings and a little fall eraser as prizes for each station. Have fun! The kids will have a blast! Another idea- for her valentines party- I made cupid bingo cards and the kids LOVED it!

Ice Cream cone cupcakes!! They love them and you can do so much with them........you can ice them and then buy cheap decorations for the kids to decorate them before they eat them.......and clean up is a breeze.

Just get cake mix, and ice cream cones, fill the cones a little over half full.....the hard part is getting them in the oven standing up...........

Crafts, buy a bunch of Popsicle sticks and let them make something with glue....build things or whatever, give them each so many sticks to make something.

When I worked at a school, the 2nd grade teacher had them finger paint with pudding.....it was a hoot.....and clean up was very easy!! Plus the "paintings" did stay around long at home because they spoiled....but they loved it......

I'm sure you will have a great time.....you can do pin the pumpkin on the patch.....you have to draw a pumpkin patch on a big piece of paper and make a pumpkin for them to pin.............

Take care and good luck
