Not sure if any of my kids had roseola. I hate to sound like a bad mom, but after having 3 kids, I have pretty much stopped taking my kids to the doctor, unless their fever is dangerously high (over 104) or they have something going on that is severe (rash, cough, or otherwise). Otherwise, it always seems like just as the time comes when I think "one more day of this, and then I better take them to the doc", the virus gets better.
My 2 year old just had a virus, where she ran a 103 fever for about 48 hours, and then obviously still felt lousy for about 3 days after. But there was really no reason to take her to the doc, and I'd heard of other people having all kinds of viruses at that time, so we just let it ride. Then of course, I got her virus right after, but for me, it was a bad headache for 5 days, viruses always seem to hit everyone in our family differently.
Anyway, I guess my point is you won't always know what virus exactly your kids have, and unless it's severe, sometimes it's not even worth paying to see the doc, because chances are, they won't know what it is either, and will only be able to tell you that ears, urine, etc. are negative :)
