If it is ringworm she would have a distinctive round rash spot on her face. Lotrimin clears ringworm up, but given her age I wouldn't use any OTC medicine on her without first putting a call in to the pediatrician.
my boyfriend just recently had ringworm on the back of his neck. & now i believe my 7 month old daughter might have it on her face, shes been really cranky at night all of a sudden. has anyone else had this problem? what do you guys recommend ( besides taking her to the pediatrician ) ?
Edit : i have an appointment coming up for her soon so i just wanted to see what i could use before that appointment came up, and im pretty sure it is ringworm, it is highly contagious, i looked into it when my boyfriend came up with it and can get itchy as well, thats why i figured her crankiness was coming from
for now im using lotrimin on her, it seems to be getting a bit better,
Thank you all for your help

Ringworm would not make a baby cranky, but either way, if you suspect your infant has ringworm, there really isn't any other good option than to take her to the doctor. Why wouldn't you want to do that?
It wouldn't make her cranky.
We used over the counter cream, fungus cream and applied to the area.
Ring worm is pretty easy to identify. It's a rash that is in a circle and it should measure about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch in diameter. The skin will be be sort of scaly. I've used tenactin anti-fungal cream in the drugstore when they have stuff for athlete's foot and that sort of thing. I'm not sure that ring worm is contagious. And it is not itchy and should have no impact on her mood at all. Good-luck.
I agree, I dont like to mess around with stuff on the face.
Ringworm shouldn't make her cranky. There are home remedies for ringworm (any anti-fungal like Lotramin in creme form), but it sounds like you are not positive this is what she has. I would take her to the doctor to get it checked out, especially if it's on her face.
ringworm is a fungus you do not need to go to the pediatrician. Just buy some Lotrimin. Its for fungus and it actually has ringworm as one of the things it cures.
Ringworm would not make her cranky. It's easy to identify ringworm just by looking at it. No dr appointment needed since they'll just tell you to use over the counter antifungal medication. My 26 yr old had it over the summer and using the cream it was gone in a week.
I agree that it won't make her cranky. I've had it several times. Antifungal cremes & cover it to help prevent spreading.
My son had ringworm when he was 4 months old on his forehead and his doctor told me to put lotramin on but he was never cranky because of it. Maybe call her doctor so he can look at it. It might not be ringworm.
