My son has ringworm on his face. I have been putting prescription cream on it from the ped for almost a month! I can still see the outline. Does anyone know how long it takes to clear up and what I can do next? He is 5 and constantly touches his face!

My son had it on his leg...bad...I could send you pictures....and it took a while for it to completely clear up....where at one point I thought it was coming back....but thankfully it cleared up and no scar or anything left....I don't think a month is a long time depending on how

Athlete's Foot Cream will do the trick...believe it or not.. which is why I am surprised your doc gave you prescription. most will recommend the AF cream first ...anyway, my son had it, it can take over a month to clear.. just keep applying it religiously every day...
get athlets foot cream! it will work within a week but put it on twice a day for two weeks. I had it on my face and that is all that would work
I think I would take him to a dermatologist and make sure it's ringworm.
I'm almost 50 years old and still remember as a kid being treated for 'ringworm' just to find out it was numular eczema.
ringworm takes a while to heal, but if you've been putting on the cream twice daily for a month, it needs to be readdressed. either new medicine, OR a reevaluation of whether or not it is even ringworm. some yeast infections look, feel, and act like ringworm but won't respond to typical ringworm meds. best option, see what the dr. thinks. if they did a skin scrape to confirm that it was, in fact, ringworm, then most likely, he'll just change the meds and hopefully that will help!
Then you need to switch fungal cream and use another one with another different active ingredient in it.
OR take him to the Doctor, you'd need a prescription strength cream.
Ringworm, is super contagious and spreads. Yes by fingernails etc.
Are you sure it is, Ringworm?
Did you have it actually Diagnosed?

It takes a looong time. I had it on my eyebrow once and the got it again on my forearm. We had a wrestling friend in HS! Super contagious...I used Lotrimin AF over the counter. And at school my forearm was covered with a bandaid until I got home.
