okay my blood type is Rh negative and i have had 3 pregnancies my first 2 was miscarriages and the 3 is now 17 months old. when i had my first miscarriage i found out that i was Rh negative. and the gave me a rhogram shot. (i think that's what its called.) and they did with my other pregnancies to. so i was wondering because i just found out i was pregnant when do you normally have to have this shot because the doctor cannot get me in until the 26th of November and i am worried that i will miscarry again. i just dont think that i can handle another miscarriage..
so please if anyone knows when the doctors usually give the rhgram shot for Rh negative blood types that are pregnant please let me know. and thanks in advance...

you'll be fine-I think a shot is given at 20 something weeks gestation, and after the birth of the baby, in case you choose to have another-take care! It's been a long time, over 22 years-so difficult to remember.

Talk to your Dr. I am rh negative and honestly , I forget when I got the shot. My daughter is quickly approaching 19.

Communicate with your dr. I did get the shot. My blood type is different from my daughters as well. Everything can be ok if you just talk to your providers!!!

Best wishes!

I'm Rh negative also. I don't remember exactly what point I got the rhogam but I know it was after 20 weeks. Trust in your OB, they know when you need it. You may need to get it after you give birth also, depending on the blood type of your baby. You just found out you're pregnant, you have plenty of time. Wishing you all the best and a healthy pregnancy.

I thought it was AFTER you gave birth! Why don't you call the doc and ask so that you can put your mind at ease.

You have to get Rhogam at a very specific point in your pregnancy. If I remember correctly it's somewhere around 27 weeks - ish.
I am A-, and had no issues with either of my preggos.

I found this on the web, and it says 28 weeks UNLESS you have already had a miscarriage, then you might need one sooner if you body already has the antibodies for the Rh+ baby. Call you OB and ask when you need this done, if this was your first pregnancy, then it wouldn't really be a concern, but since its not I would call and ask. Agree to see the Nurse Practitioner if that is all they can get you to see. Really what you need is the blood test to know for sure, and she can order that. Good luck and congrats Mama!

Boy, I don't think remember, but I've had 3 successful pregnancies, 1 miscarriage.

I doubt you are miscarrying because of the blood factor, that's more for labor, not pregnancy.

Generally at 28 weeks and then within 72 hours after delivery. But some doctors do it at the beginning of the second trimester and then every 12 weeks.

I think it is given later in the pregnancy. Call your doctors office and ask them.

I went for my blood work at Vanderbilt hospital in 2007 when I was 4 months pregnant in 2007 to find out I was rh negative and had the shot while pregnant and told I'll have to have another afterwards (she had the opposite blood type) knowing it was a risk. Non the less she was born healthier than me even with the super rare birth/pregnancy I had (one footling backwards split breech...4% pregnancies in the world have). We both are fine. It'll be ok if your body is ready for a baby you'll have the baby even if the hospital has only seen a handful of births like mine ever come through. God is watching over you always!
