Hi, need to get glasses and am considering Vision World or LensCrafters at Maplewood Mall. Any experience with any of these companies even if it wasnt at Maplewood Mall? Any hidden fees, etc??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I actually went to Sears...I got glasses, frames and special polishing for $168. Was happy with the price...it was very busy so didnt have a lot of time for questions, but I figured out what I wanted and think I saved about $100!!

Hi D.- I Have have never been to a LensCrafters however I have been to a Vision World and never again. The service was very numbers and had no personality. They never took the time to look at me in the eye and listen to my concerns. I was in need of glasses for the first time for my 5 year old daughter. I had many unanswered questions leaving there and did not buy anything and have since never gone back. If you are willing to go a few exits farther, Oakdale Optical on 10th and 694 has been wonderful. They have gone so far above and beyond any expectations I could have ever wanted for my daughter. If you wudl like their number Please let me know I will forward the info to you. We have since been back for 3 more pairs of glasses for my daughter, contacts for me, and glasses for a few more friends and family members.

I always go to Maplewood Mall Lenscrafters for my eyeglass needs. I tried Vision World and they were good too. I went to the WSP one. There were two occassions where my glasses got a crack on the lense and it's their fault and they replaced at no cost because it was within the warranty timeframe. They wouldn't, however, call the lense in over the phone. I had to drive there to have them review it and then drive there again to pick it up. What a hassle and it made me upset. I think Vision World is cheaper. I bought eyeglasses and sunglasses at Lenscrafters both with the best featherweight lenses and scratch coating and I paid around $600. Ouch. I do like Lenscrafters doctor there. He's very nice and explains things very well and answers any questions.

I used to go to the Lenscrafter in Roseville and really liked it. They were professional, prompt, and I really felt like I got good service. My insurance recently changed, so I had to switch to a place that carried my new insurance. So, I went to the Vision World in Roseville, and I was not satisfied. They were not professional, the eye doctor I saw was so fast, I don't even think I took off my coat! He was not friendly at all, and I felt like he was just pushing me out the door. Pricewise, they were great, but I missed the good service and friendliness that I had at Lenscrafter. Take care.

Hi, I have worn glasses for forever and after trying all the glass stores, I prefer Pearle Vision the best! They have the BEST costumer service! I like Lens Crafters next and then Vision World. Customer Service is not so hot at the last two. Good luck!

I've used the Vision World in downtown MPLS and have never had any issues. If you aren't using insurance, they will price match, so scour the internet for what you want and then bring in the printouts!

I would try America's Best. I've tried all the others, and they are always the fastest, cheapest, and friendliest.

I just bought glasses at Vision World in Maplewood Mall in January.

I was happy with the service, price, etc. But it depends on what you are looking for.

If you are like me and know what you want and don't want a sales person bugging you and you don't have alot of questions then Vision World is a good place to go.

If you want handholding or have alot of questions about your eyes/glasses then Vision World is not the place for you becase you will not get that type of attention.
