Hi C.
Before being a stay at home mom of three teens, I had worked for close to 20 years. When I moved to the US, I became a stay at home mother. Truthfully, I found it dificult because my kids didn't need me in a way small children do.
So I went to George Mason University where they have a program for returning adult students. It is called Bachelor of Individualized Studies (BIS). I truly enjoyed it because I was able to create my studies based on my personal life experience, and be with adult students who could understand the difficulties of returning. The faculty is really helpful also in helping you direct you to where you would like to go. This is not a cookie cutter type of program and does require work and planification. But personally, I would not have done it any differently.
I am now a Life Coach and my education gave my all the tools and knowledge I needed to move foward. I has also helped my in my other trainings that I am doing.
I hope that this will answer some of your questions or at least give you some inspiration on what to do.
Good Luck
C. C.
