I see several others have reommended Central Market. We celebrated a two year old plus grandpa birthday there. Here is the link to events at area Central Markets. http://www.centralmarket.com/cm/cmEvents.jsp
My son and mother have the same birthday. I'm looking for a place to celelbrate that is fun for both adults and 2 yr olds. My son LOVES live music and will just dance all night if he could. I'm wondering if there are any restaurants in the DFW area that have live music earlier than 9pm. Edelweiss in Ft Worth is the only one I'm aware of. Location is not so much an issue since I'm in NW FW and my parents are in North Garland/Plano, so anywhere in between is fine!
Thanks in advance!

I know Central Market in Southlake has an outdoor patio type restaurant with live bands playing. I've never been but I've heard it is really fun and with the weather getting nicer in the evening.... You might try checking that out!
I am not sure how "nice" you want the restaurant to be, but we love going to Central Market in Southlake. Not exactly halfway for you but I think they have one in Plano also. They do have a restaurant there but you place your order and they bring the food out to you. We love it so much because they have a nice playground for the kiddos, you can sit outside if the weather is nice, and on weekends the live music begins usually at 6:00. You can check out their website. Good luck! M.
Hi, S.. There's a little place called Seekers in the NRH area off of Precinct Line. It's a Christian-owned and operated coffee house. They have live entertainment weekends. We saw the Robert Gotcher band awhile back and I noticed a variety of people and ages. The entertainment is held in an area adjacent to where you order and are served beverages and snacks. They have tables/chairs set up along with comfy sofas at the back of the room.
Fred's Texas Cafe offof Currie and 7th in FW near downtown is lots of fun and has the best outdoor patio. They often have early music - google them to see who and when. They are very kid dancing friendly - the owners have a young daughter. We've been a number of times and it is a lot of fun for all.
Central Market off of Hulen Street in Fort Worth. They have burgers and bach night, where there is live music with dancing and a play ground thing for kids. You will probably need to call and find out when it starts..i have been there before and my children loved it. Hope you find what you are looking for.

A GREAT place for adults and kids alike is (believe it or not) Central Market in Southlake. It is very casual, they serve food from the cafe, have a cash bar outside, live music and a big playground for the kids. If you get a table near the playground you can watch the kids play while the adults listen to the music and everyone can eat great! You can check their website for a list of entertainment and times. We go there almost every Friday night with neighbors and it is fun for all! Have fun!
A really fun place is Edelweiss in West Fort Worth near Camp Bowie and 183/Southwest Blvd. It's on the east side of a traffic circle (3801 Southwest Blvd # A). It is a German restaurant that has a dance floor which is always filled with kids dancing and having a great time. The owner performs all of the music complete with yodelling (sp?) and an accordion. They do the chicken dance, which is always a favorite along with tons of other fun songs. This is definitely a unique experience, but we have gone there with our Sunday School class and my family several times and everyone has enjoyed themselves. You might want to split entrees, though. They are very generous with their portions and German food is not exactly light!
yep...just went to Central Market last night (hulen st) and it is perfect for families! there is a playground next to the tables, live music, great food and drinks!
My friends and family have gone to Fiesta Mexican Restaurant on Hemphill-off of W.Berry for years and years.Anita Barriaga is the owner and she has great food.On Wednesdays she would have Mariachi's and they have a big room in the back where you can let your kids be around you without them bothering anyone else.Check with her for the time and I suggest you make a reservation if you have alot of people.Tell her S. said HI! :)
