Congratulations! Quite a surprise, huh? My son was 18 months when we found out we were having twins. I have identical 1 year old girls now. I would recommend "Mothering Multiples" by Karen Kerkhoff Gromada. Helpful advice on everything from nursing (you CAN do it! I nursed mine exclusively on BM for the first 6 months and we are still nursing) to things you will need and cooking, managing time, etc. I also read through Elizabeth Noble's book on twins - very dense. Helpful, but like most books on twins I looked at (from the library), a lot more about the pregnancy. I found it was hard for me to read these as I tended to focus on the scary stuff like preterm labor (I worried the whole time and went to 39 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG weeks!). My biggest piece of (unsolicited) advice: eat protein. Tons of it. My sister is a midwife and she advised me it was the most important thing especially for a multiples pregnancy. When I say a lot I mean 120 grams a day. I got really good at knowing what was high in protein! I swear it had a lot to do with how long I went and how healthy they were (6lbs and 6lbs1oz, perfect APGARS, nursing within 30 minutes of birth) Good luck and get ready!!!
