ok take ammonia and put it on your carpet then cover it with a paper towel and take a hot iron over it this also works on red or pink stains also
Help, my 4 year old has decided to ruin everything this weekend, first my makeup, but that was at least on tile, now he has throw dark blue nail polish on light blue carpet. What can I do to get the nail polish out?
I actually ended up using amonia, put a white towel down and used an iron and it magically disappeared, don't know where it went because it didn't go onto the towel. Now waiting for the smell to disappear, but that will in time. I'm amazed it didn't stain either.

Ok, there is this awesome cleaner called Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3, which got nail polish out of my carpet easy peasy. I had a nail polish bottle fall and shatter on my new beige carpet, but someone suggested this stuff to me. I had to order it off the internet, and even though it took a few days to get here, it still came right out of the carpet. http://www.liftoffinc.com/product-ink-remover.php
When all else failed with a stain on a carpet and no ther way to get it out, I would cut it out with a razor blade, cutting the top sections of the twist off that was affected. Only works on small stains.
we ended up havign to wait til it dried and then snipped off each of the carpet fibers. No one can even tell now.
