Hi...need advice about babies (8 months, 6 weeks premature) not taking bottle/nursing as much as they probably should (to get 24-30oz) of milk/formula per day and suggestions on how to get them to drink more...
Looks like they were just being picky for a few days. Thanks everyone!

8 months, are you introducing any cereal or baby food? Are they a healthy weight? Babies know when they are full, they might not need as much.
My son went on a bottle strike at 7 months - that was 2 months ago and he still won't take one (we gave up). He nurses plenty when I'm around, and just eats a lot of solids when I'm at work.
Try getting them to drink from a cup if you're worried. But as long as they're nursing and eating solids I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Brazelton et al recommends that 2-3 "good" breastmilk/formula meals should be completely fine (nutritionally) at this age, with solids making up the rest.
Hi Nicole,
Have you tried introducing a sippy cup with hadles on it yet? The novelty might keep them interested in drinking more. My daughter never took a bottle...around 6 months I started puting breast milk in a cup and she loved it. Congrats and good luck!
