I am always looking for fun stuff to do with my 9-month old. She loves animals, the water, being outside...but it is so hot right now. I am just curious about what other moms are doing!

What can I do next?

Hi L.,

I always have trouble planning daily activities for my kids so I joined a mom's group when I moved to San Antonio just a few months ago. It is through meetup.com. The group I am in is the north stay at home parents meetup. It is a very active group that will always offer many activities for your baby, including playgroups, lunches, trips to the zoo, etc as well as some social interaction. Some of the parents even work part time or run a small home business. If you have a flexible work schedule, you would probably be able to make it to quite a few activities and they even offer mom's night outs a few times per month:! This is the link for it: http://sahp.meetup.com/53/ This group has been great for my children and myself, especially being new to the area. Because many events take place at parks, it has helped me to find great ones in my area. So you may want to check it out! Good Luck!

L.

We bought a membership at the zoo. We go at 7:30 in the morning and just have a blast! We'll walk around and watch some of the animals being fed and then hit the lagoon for a few. We are out of there by 11:00. The zoo advertises a 10am open but with the membership you can go at 7:30

My son is 8-1/2 months old - my husband and I like to take him to the zoo (get there when it opens!), or the children's museum. Both have areas especially designed for kids under 4 yrs old. A lot of times I just take him shopping with me - he loves to look at the people passing by and all the stuff on the shelves. Children's Chorus of San Antonio hosts a class on Saturdays called Music Together, which is for birth-age 6. I was looking in to that, but I don't have time to go.

I know it's hard to not have your family here - my husband and I moved from Michigan a year ago.
