I am a first time mom to be, and I am not too sure which OB/GYNS would be good to see at Baylor Hospital in Frisco or at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano. Any input on the doctors below along with any of your recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
List:
Dr. Jason Harn
Dr. Randall Burt
Dr. Alvin Gebert
Dr. Steven Trostel
Dr. David Fong
Thank you for your help!

I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Riegel! He has been my doctor for over 15 years, when I got pregnant with my oldest, and he is wonderful!!! His office is located next to Presby Plano (where I had all 3 of my kids, and love that hospital as well).

I started going to Dr. Randall Burt when I found out I was pregnant with my now 7 year old daughter. I LOVE him, his nurse (Bernetta) and the entire office staff! Unlike other doctors I've seen in the past, he actually takes time to sit and talk with you and actually gets to know YOU as a patient and a person. Additionally, I suffered an ectopic pregnancy earlier this year and the caring and compasion shown by him and Bernetta was amazing! You won't go wrong and will have no regrets should you make the choice to see Dr. Burt.

Another doctor you should look into is Dr. Donald Chester. He delivers at Baylor in Frisco, and Medical Center in Plano. He has delivered both of my children, both of my nieces, and my husbands 2 cousins. His office is located at the corner of 15th and coit in Plano. He is very nice and has a wonderful bedside manner.

I have used Dr. Traci Nivens for the birth of my two children and love her. She has privileges at both hospitals, and is in practice with Dr. Steven Trostel. She always took the time to answer my questions. She speaks to the patients like a person, and almost like a friend rather than someone she just has to look at really quick.

Dr. Steven Trostel assisted with my second child's c-section and he was really nice. He did come by and check on me the next day, and the day I was discharged. The other doctor in the practice Dr. Kristen Innes is also a great doctor. I had to see her for a few of my prenatal visits and she treated me as though I was one of her patients.

The whole practice is a great practice. Good luck and Congratulations.

Hi H.. I am a birth doula and I get to meet lots of OBs during my client's births. I have worked with the following doctors and have had good experiences with them:

Dr. Fong
Dr. Nivens (female) (don't remember her first name) she was at Presby Plano and now works out of one of the Frisco hospitals.
Dr. Julie Farrow at Presby Plano

I especially loved Dr. Nivens. She was very open to my client's wishes!!

I also recommend Dr. Gebert. I used him through three very high risk pregnancies and he was great.

hmm. i don't want to sound mean or anything, but i had a very different experience with dr. burt. i heard nothing but good things (much like here) so i was confident using him. but i found him to be almost the exact opposite with me in the 6 months i saw him. he was friendly enough, but i never really felt like he was too concerned with really talking things through with me. i got very superficial answers (and being my first pregnancy i didn't know what i didn't know, if that makes sense - i thought i was getting all the info i needed; i even had major anatomical abnormalities that no one told me about and i only found out when my new OB told me he read it in my records). when i expressed concern/fear over an epidural, i was simply told to "get over it" (no pep talk, explanation of how it works, etc). i had major cramping for a week (progressively getting worse) and rather than having me come in (i called at 2am one night b/c i was about to go to the emergency room) i was told "it's only going to get worse" as the pregnancy progresses (as if it was normal pain - never had it before or after...but turns out baby's brain got messed up around the same time - not saying anything could have been done, but probably best not to assume a woman is simply weak when she's in pain rather than take it and her seriously). as for his nurse, she was actually consistently cold and not too friendly or helpful. the front desk is really nice and the sonographers were great. like i said, i had a very different experience from most posters, but i thought you might want to know in case your experience ends up like mine... (p.s. i ended up switching OBs at 7 months b/c i was so unhappy - i'm at 31 weeks now).

I have been going to Dr. Alvin Gebert for about 15 years now and I absolutely love him! He is very conservative and has gotten me through 2 pregnancies with complications, cancer, endo and most recently a complete hysterectomy. He keeps himself up on the very latest and even does his own sonos when you are pregnant. I just can't say enough good things about him!

I've also gone to David Fong (he was Gebert's partner years ago) and liked him also.

Dr. Burt!! He and his staff are absolutely wonderful. He delivered both of my girls with some sudden onset medical complications I had. He was very calm and I had complete trust in him. Plus, he is an overall great Christian guy that will keep you laughing. My whole family loves him.

I go to Dr. Burt and I love him. I've been going to him for almost 6 years now. My mother goes to him and my neighbor goes to him as well. I had a wonderful delivery with my daughter. He takes the time to get to know his patients and answers all of you questions.

Dr. Katrina Walsh is EXCELLENT!!!!! I would highly recommend her; i have been a patient of hers for over 10 years; she is kind, caring and DARN GOOD! She goes the extra mile for her patients, it's not just "business as usual" to her - she really cares and is an excellent OB/GYN :-)
She offices off of Midway and Paker Road, just behind Presby Plano and is affiliated with Presby Plano.
