Recommendations for a Great Water Bottle

My brother was diagnosed with stage IV thyroid cancer two weeks ago. He begins intensive treatments starting with radiation for three days followed immediately by surgery on Friday. His doctor had only one recommendation - drink more water. I'd love to get him a nice water bottle- one that doesn't leak and also with a straw that is easy to draw from. I have a Camelbak that I love, but it requires pressure on the mouth piece to draw the water out, and that would not work for him. It has to be easy for him to drink from post surgery while in bed recovering. Can you all recommend a good bottle and where to get it? I don't have really any time to order online, so I need to be able to go out and get it at the store. Thank you!!!

What can I do next?

I have one I really like that I got at Sports Authority (if you have those?). It is made by Nike, and has a fold-out straw that you don't have to "bite" or squeeze and it is relatively leak free (I haul it with me wherever I go, and haven't had any major spillage--but if it is completely horizontal, it will drip a few drops here and there). It also has a little finger loop holder thingy, which is handy.
Best of luck to you and your brother!

Well my husband just bought me a new water bottle, and I love it. It is a Blender Bottle, and he got it at GNC. It does not have a straw on it, but it does have a neat little handle, where you can just hook one finger into it, and carry it that way, so you don't have to hold the whole bottle especially when it is wet or heavy and full. You can probably just get a nice plastic straw somewhere, one that you can dishwasher and reuse. They have all kinds of nice bottles at GNC. Mine also came with a little whisk ball, so you can mix up drinks and such. I hope you find one, and I am sorry to hear about your brother. You are a good sister to think of ways to help him get better. Sending prayers and hugs your way.

The first thing that came to mind were those squeeze bottles they use for sports (I'm not a sports person). Quick search on Amazon.com came up with this: http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Sports-Water-Bottle-Natural...

My stuff from Amazon usually arrives in a day or two. Alternately, you could try a local sporting goods store - I'm sure they have bottles like this. He would just have to squeeze the bottle to get the water to come out the top.

My mom loves her Bubba Keg with a Flexi Straw - maybe that will work for your brother - they have smaller versions of the Bubba Keg too if that is a concern. I am not a fan of water via straw so I have a simple rubbermaid water bottle that has a standard drinking hole and I have good results with Rubbermaid brand items, so they may have something at Target/Walmart or simmilar.
