I'm with a couple of others on this: Arbonne! I haven't used one product that I have not liked!!! If you would like more information you can email me, I sell it for myself, but am willing to help others at any time.
Hello everyone,
I'm five months pregnant with my first (after a year and a half of trying) and we're thrilled! I have a really minor, silly question for you all...Can anyone recommend a good all over body skin cream for dry skin. I don't want anything highly perfumed and would like to keep it fairly natural/organic in ingredients. Thanks!

The cream I used was called genes. I loved it left my skin super soft and stretch mark free –I know people who us it for eczema as well. I got mine from Sam’s Club but here is a web site http://www.genesvitamine.com/index.htm
I always used. Shea butter it works great and its thick and creamy so it really does the job. I used it on both of my pregnancy's and didnt get not one stretch mark (and I was little lol) Best of luck
I used Palmers cocoa butter and I loved it. It's been around for years and is esp. for pregnant mommies. Im sure it's not completely organic but I loved it and would use it again!

Congrats on the pregnancy! I am almost 37 weeks myself and since the winter started I had the same problem and my belly itched like crazy. I use Aveeno products because it was more natural like you said. I didn't like thick creams because they just seemed to sit on my skin and not absorb but I got the Aveeno lotion plus oil - has pinkish label - its about $9 but I'm on my third bottle here already, I applied it twice a day morning after shower and night before bed and no stretch marks so it was great for that too. Having the oil in it was such a relief on my dry skin. Good luck with everything and take care!
I use Burts Bee's Milk and Honey body butter - got it a meijer and LOVE IT!
I like the Burt's Bees Milk lotion and the Aveeno Baby unscented (both are technically for babies...but I use them regularly).
Congrats!
I would recommend Nivea Essentially Enriched Lotion. I have used it for years and its the only thing that really helps to heal the skin when its itchy and irritated. You can find it at any drugstore, wal-mart etc... It is a little greasy (to my husband who usually helps put it on me), but that's the oil locking in the moisture.

Hi R.,
I would suggest Shea Butter (natural, organic shea butter - without any added chemicals - if you are looking to use something organic). I've used it before for both hair and skin. I also use Palmers Cocoa Butter.
I use a moisture lotion that is called Renew, from a company i deal with. It has a high moisture content and a very light odor. It absorbs into the skin without leaving a film. It is safe for infants, also. I had used it for my granddaughter's diaper rash. for more info contact me.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! It is wonderful that your husband is able to work from home.
What works for me is a shower gel and a hand and body lotion from the Enfuselle Skin Care line. These products are organic, there are no parabens and there isn't a fragrance.
Also, another lady mentioned fish oils. Fish oils are excellent as well and especially great for pregnant women. Be careful with the fish oils. You want to make sure there isn't any mercury present. An excellent fish oil is Omegaguard, which is 100% guaranteed there isn't any mercury.
If you would like to talk about these products, feel free to call me at ###-###-#### or you can go to www.shaklee.net/mamabear
Again, congratulations!

I used vitamin E cream. You can pick it up at Wal-Mart for under $4 and it works better than anything else I tried. It is in the lotion section, but comes in a 'tub' - and it is great for stretch marks too!
My best advice to you is plain old cocoa butter. My daughters and I have used the cocoa butter sticks for years. They are fairly inexpensive (found them at Walmart) and last a while. The fragrance is a bit strong on application, but lightens quickly. It is the best thing in the world for keeping the skin moisturized, especially in stretch mark areas. In addition, drink at least 32 ounces of water every day!!! Staying hydrated is the number one cure for dry skin!!
Hi R.,
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! It took almost 3 years for my husband and I to concieve our first child (I,too, was 28) and we now have 3 children. I represent a nature-baaased skin care company called Soul Purpose and I know that scents during pregnancy can be very annoying. If you decide to visit my website, the lightest scent that I woud recommend for you is called Hollywood Fresh. It has a very clean, light scent that is really nice. Click on the Journey of the Senses tab to get more details on all of our scents for our products. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
R. M. Morton
Hello there R.:
Well Congratulations are in order!! I know it took me 7 years to get pregnant with my Triplets that are now 2 yrs old, and doing wonderful!
I used plain old extra virgin Olive Oil! Thats it! You may smell a little like a salad..but it worked, I had not one stretch mark with Three.
I tried all the creams and butters, but some very good friends said, use the Olive Oil - and it worked very well. Its cheap and natural.
God Bless, and wish you a healthy happy pregnancy!

Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Body Lotion. It's inexpensive, fragrance free & highly moisturizing. You'll love it. Don't have an Avon contact? Call me ~ J. ###-###-####, I live in the Wyoming area & would love to service you!!
Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!!
I make my own body oil, that I love for the winter time. I get small bottles of organic cold pressed oils, such as sweet almond, apricot kernal, jojoba, and grapeseed, and mix them together in another container, 1/4 sweet almond, 1/4 grapeseed, and smaller amounts of the apricot and jojoba. I then add a few drops of essential oil of lemon and bergamot, you can add any scent or no scent if you want, shake the bottel before each use. I put it on wet skin after shower/bath, and then dry off with a towel. It's the only thing that stop sme from itching in the winter. I hope this helps!
The Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion seems to be best. That is what keep my skin feeling hydrated when I was pregnant. The best place to buy it is at Costco, you get 2 large bottles for around $12. I tried using the cocoa butter stuff that is supposed to keep you from getting streachmarks, but that did not work and my skin was so dry that it hurt. I also bought the hand repair lotion from Bath and Body Works because my hands felt raw. I hope this helps.
You may want to try Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion. It's specially formulated for pregnancy to help with the stretching skin. Personally, I like Lay it on Thick from Bath and Body Works. Both have shea butter which is supposed to be the key to getting rid of dry skin. Another good one is No Crack from Restoration Hardware or you could always go with good old Vaseline. It's a bit greasy but also very gentle. Good luck and congrats!
Hi R.,
First of all- congratulations on your pregnancy- you are in for a fun ride (: My name is C. and I have my own business with a company called Arbonne International. Have you heard of it? It's a Swiss health and wellness company-I think that Arbonne might be a good fit for you, for some body lotion as it's all botanically-based, no perfumes, waxes, dyes, all vegan, no SD alcohol etc. Funny how when you get pregnant, you dry up (I was the same way with both of my kids). Arbonne has been around 29 years, has a wonderful reputation (my pediatrician has the baby products in her office to offer to her patients) and everything has a 45 day money back guarantee. If this interests you, drop me a line and then I will give you my website to check out some products, and depending where you live, could drop off some products for you to try (no obligation whatsoever) for a couple days. Have a great weekend! Take care. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! *C. (WAHM to a 3 1/2yr old son and 22 month old daughter).
I would recommend anything Aveeno. I love their lotions and they are also pediatrician recommended once you have your baby to use the aveeno baby, but for yourself i would say the regular aveeno. I always get really dry hands after washing dishes and could never find anything that worked good then my mom bought me some aveeno lotion and i love it. They have all different kinds. hope that helps
Congrats on your baby! I just switched to a new moisturizer b/c of the weather called HUGO Naturals that I found at Whole Foods. I talked to the store clerk and he also suggested the ShiKai Borage Dry Skin Therapy...which has no fragrance! I really like both products.
Good luck and enjoy these precious moments w/ your little one!
Hello,
I'm 28 have two children. I have been using Extra Virgin Olive Oil for years. Worked for preventing stretch marks and works well on hair, as I use it for a moisturizer and a conditioner. It's natural and not too expensive.
Hope this helps.
Hello R., My dermatologist told me that the best thing to use was oil as soon as I get done showering. I actually stand in the tub after drying off to put it on in case I spill any. Baby oil is good, but you can also use olive oil if you prefer organic. Be careful not to slip and fall. Good luck.
I have really dry skin as well and I love fragrance free Curel lotion. It makes my once dry skin very smooth. I even use it on my 11 month old (I prefer it over the "baby" lotions - many of which are scented).
Congratulations! I know how excited you must be as it took us about the same amount of time - yeay! Finally! Ok, I would go to a Whole Foods Market near you...there is one in Troy or Rochester. All of their products are good for you, you can find them on line. Also the Body Shop has good for your products, even at Meijer you can find a brand called Kiss My Face, they have good stuff as well. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
I have very sensitive skin and everything bothers me. I just discovered Johnson & Johnson 24 hour moisture wash and lotion. It has a mild fragrace. It is NOT found on the baby isle like you would think. It's with the adult products.
Hi R.,
All the recommendations are good. However, if you really want to battle your dry skin, begin taking some Cod Liver Oil. It comes in gelcaps, so you don't have to deal with the nasty taste. Nordic Naturals is a very good choice and doesn't have any burpy after affect.
In addition, fish oil is EXCELLENT while you are pregnant. The fats in fish oil are soooo good for baby. Fish oil has so many benefits for baby both inutero and after birth... Vitamin D, Vitamin A, DHA, EFA... the benefits go on and on and on.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Market America's Royal Spa line is just what you are looking for. You can see the ingredients, etc. at www.marketamerica.com/thevoiceoftruth . I use it every day and love it! (I am the holder of the web site!)

I use Arbonne products and I love them. I have super sensitive skin and they are really mild. They also tend to be natural products. I use them on my kids too. I've struggled my whole life with dry skin and my skin has never been better. And, I have to say, I'm not using the body lotion regularly, it's the soap I use in the shower that does the trick. It is very mild and doesn't dry out my skin like most soaps do. Their website is www.arbonne.com. You can buy a membership to their company and buy the stuff yourself, or if you'd prefer, you can order it through a representative. My friend sells it so I could give you her info if you want it, or you can just go online and pay the $ and buy it yourself. The nice thing if you go through a rep is that they are typically stay-at-home moms so you are supporting a good cause.
Everything you just asked for in skin care is available with Jordan Essentials. Family friendly, natural based, NO harmful chemicals, and the best part is that in my 3 years of experience with this co. their products actually work where so many I had tried before do not. There are 20 different mild fragrances or you can get any of the products completely unscented also. Oh, and the second best thing is that the products are VERY affordable.... Check it out for yourself at: www.jordanrep.com/8783 or you can email me personally for assistance &/or samples....I have enjoyed the past 3 years without any skin splits or dry patches...you can too. I used Thera Neem on my baby's excema. Worked overnight to clear it up.
As far as dry skin goes there is only so much you can do to moisturize from the outside. Make sure you are drinking LOTS of water and running a humidifier helps. This winter has been the worst for me. My knuckles have been terrible. But for some relief the Neem will help. If you have open cracks it will sting a bit. It has somewhat of a citrusy scent, but its not citrus, its the natural scent of the neem. Its unique to anything i've smelt before, but I'm getting used to it.
Just thought I'd share the product. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion. :)
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I swear by using baby oil after the shower - no toweling off water. Every evening I just moisturize with whatever lotion is handy - Vaseline intensive care/Aveno/etc. Not the fruity perfume lotions. Most importantly - DRINK WATER! Hydrate your skin from the inside out. It's good for your skin as well as you and baby's overall health during pregnancy. Drink at least 80 oz of water a day.
I'm pregnant w/baby #2 and am still stretch-mark free. They run in my family, but I'm lucky to be spared. Good luck!
I use coconut oil when my skin is just dried after the shower. Do some research on the benefits of coconut oil. It actually feeds your skin. It plumps up the colagen underneath to give you firmer skin. It is very healthy for you. Not one chemical in it!!!!! I love it!!! I would also use it on your baby. The chemicals that are in baby lotion are toxic to the system. I check all my cosmetics on a cosmetics safetybase website. http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php?nothanks=1
It is an awesome website, it tells you what ingredients are in the product and what they rate with toxicity and how it hurts you. It also gives you a list of products by name and manufacturer that are rated least toxic to most toxic. You would be suprised to see that some of the most common products are very toxic. I have this website saved in my favorites, and check it all the time. After all, your skin is your largest organ, and it absorbs everything. I'm glad that you don't want to put anything toxic on you. Good luck!

go to your local health food store and get pure coconut oil or shea butter...
R.,
Try shea butter (natural)and it doesn't have any perfume with a nice natural scent. You can add any oil to it as well if you like. Also the vitamin E and cocoa butter as a mixture will keep the marks away. Back in the day, my mother used to always make us combine our lotion with vaseline, even in the summer. I find myself doing it now, just now I use the vaseline with shea butter which smells great. Congratulations on the baby!

Curel makes a great lotion that I use everyday, its the "pregnancy" one and I love, love, love it. May not be quite what you are looking for, but you might want to take a look.
I absolutely love Aveno products! They are either oatmeal based lotions, or soy bean based lotions. You can also try Trader Joe's ... they have a moisturizing lotion that is unscented with Aloe which is great for your skin. Good luck and Mazel Tov on the baby!
Congratulations! I wish you well through this exciting adventure. I swear by The Body Shop's Body Butter. The one I use is scented (mango, mmmm), although they may have an unscented one as well. I have extremely dry skin and this is the only thing that has ever worked well for me. Good Luck.
