Hi ladies/ I had a misscarriage about 10 weeks ago, and I was just about 5 weeks pregnant (i found out right away, and I was on birth controll). After the misscarriage, my dr gave me a new bc to try. After 6 weeks of nausea, vomiting, and mood swings i took myself off of it. Needless to say, between the 3 weeks I have not been on bc I concieved, again. I had a blood test take and it was positive, but my hcg level was very low (250) and the dr is having me repeat it this week. My concern is that I just had a misscarriage. Has anyone else had something like this happen and had another misscarriage? Or should I not be so concerned about this pregnancy? I appreciate all the info.

S.!!
That is exactly how it happened for me!!
I got pregnant, after trying several BC Pills and having issues with migranes. I was however 9 weeks when I had a miscarriage, and was put back on BC immediately. That was in September, and by January I was pregnant again with my son. My pregnancy was okay, but I did experience bleeding and spotting frequently during the first 16 weeks.
I was always at my doctor's office. My pregnancy was not considered high risk, but looking back my doctor agrees maybe it should have been, since my son was born 8 weeks early. There is a time of which your body needs to heal before it becomes pregnant again, for the integrity of the walls of your uterus to maintain the pregnancy. So, for me it was a small issue and I am so thankful I was a vigilant about going to ER or Urgent Care for exams when I was not sure what was going on...But, I would just be in constant contact with your OBGYN, and make sure you keep a journal of any questions or concerns you have.
Good Luck!!
I think the rule of thumb is to wait about 2 months (or 2 cycles) to conceive again, so 10 weeks should be just fine. Just make sure the doc keeps a close eye on you (with a previous miscarriage and low hcg you should be treated like a high risk pregnancy in the beginnning). Good luck!!!
I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks, and then got prgnant mid 2 months alter. i was so scared the whole pregnancy that i would miscariage that i didn't get to really enjoy being pregnant, this is a big regret now. But I did carry it to ful term and have a beautiful 22 month od girl now!
Hi S.. The exact same thing happened to me as the previous poster. I chart my cycles so I know exactly when i ovulate, and exactly when my period should arrive. Basically I tested positive in July and around the day my period shouldve arrived, low and behold it came. I was devastated. I cried and cried. I just had a chemical too. I am now almost 7 weeks pregnant again and my hcg has more than doubled in 48hrs. Praying that everything goes ok..
Hi S.!!
Even though I was not on b/c, something similar happened to me. My cycle is like clockwork, so when I was late in June, I knew I was pregnant. I took three tests and it was confirmed, I was pregnant. This made me right at 4 weeks. A week after the positive test, I started to bleed like a regular period and ended up miscarrying. I was devastated. Since I was without insurance, I didn't get to go to the Dr. but I did take another pg test, and it was negative. Then July rolled around, and I was late again!!
I took another 3 tests, and they were all positive. This time I was able to go to the Dr. and he confirmed it as well. I told him about the miscarriage, and he said that since I was so early, that he didn't even consider it a miscarriage, but rather a Chemical pregnancy. I was so worried that the new pregnancy would turn out the same way. I am now almost 19 weeks along, and just found out that I'm having a healthy baby girl!!
Just take it easy, well, as easy as you can with a 2 y/o. Make sure you see your Dr. if you start bleeding at all. Congrats on your new addition!!!
Good luck!!

Hi S.
I just wanted to let you know that this also happened to me. I had a miscarriage in my second trimester. I was prego again 9 weeks later, I now have three daughters, 1 3 and 6 years old. I had the miscarriage after daughter number one was born. I just want you to know that my Dr said it was perfectly fine to get prego again right away, and I even had a D&C, and my Dr was right. I also had my HCG levels checked many times in the first trimester, thats a total normal procedure.
I wish you the very best and in my heart, I understand how worried you are, you have every right to be, on the hand, just try to enjoy every moment of this pregnancy, I think it will be just fine, the miscarriage was a flook, it was an unhealthy pregnancy and this one is a healthy one.
Let me know what happens, I will be thining of you, I understand because it happened to me.
Where do you live?
Try not stressing yourself out, remember stress isnt good for that little baby in there.
Are you having a CVS by any chance? I had that, and I knew at ten weeks that she was perfect, so then I could enjoy every second after that and I stop worrying so much, worrying sucks.
Have a great day and please keep in touch with me.
