I am interested in hearing any and all reviews for either of these two schools. I am deciding for my 2 daughters who will be in the 4 year old and 3 year old classes at one of these schools.
Thanks so much for your input!

After visiting and researching both schools, I chose Reading Friends for my son. DKH seemed a bit cluttered, cramped and disorganized; also the staff wasn't overly friendly. I liked Reading Friends from the moment I entered the building. The director was so welcoming and very knowledgeable about child development and education; the staff were all kind, patient and nurturing with the children (and with me!). I also liked that all the teachers are degreed/certified and experienced. Thanks to Reading Friends, my son was reading on a 1st grade level before completing the pre-k program; even more important, the teachers at Reading Friends instilled in him a love for reading and learning that I think will last him a lifetime. Some people have commented that Reading Friends is a bit pricey; I say the old adage is true: you get what you pay for!

We love love DKH Academy. We have been going there for a couple of years and my youngest daughter will be going again next fall. The teachers and Staff are wonderful and we have never had a bad experience there. We were at a different school with my middle daughter and she was having a bad experience and when we switched to DKH she changed and blossomed into a more positive and happy little girl. I recommend to go take a tour of DKH Academy.

My 3 year-old daughter attended Reading Friends while we were on the waiting list for DKH. It was a nice enough school but the playground wasn't too great and the curriculum is unavailable to parents as it's "confidential". I found that rather odd. One of the responses on here blasting DKH and in favor of RF was posted by their assistant director posing as a regular mom, Nikki Witt. Very fishy. DKH came highly recommended by many people. I was really impressed with the kindness, experience, and education of the director. DKH is NAEYC accredited (RF is not) and they have a fabulous playground which looks like a park. The teachers at DKH are wonderful as well and are all certified and degreed. The classes are very small as well so each child gets lots of one-on-one attention. Our family LOVES DKH! I would recommend DKH to anyone with a pre-school age child over RF any day!

I highly recommend DKH Academy. I know the owner and some teachers there and happy teachers equal happy students. They have an amazing curriculum, home-like atmosphere, and are expanding now, making their previously very exclusive waiting list a non-issue for this coming school year. The classes start with 18-month-olds.

I am extremely picky about preschools because I taught preschool in Plano for 7 years and I will be sending my daughter there in the Fall.

Someone made a comment about it seeming cramped there, but they are launching the expansion to solve that for the Fall. I find the staff caring, polite, and organized. Their curriculum is called High Reach and is very well-respected in the teaching field. I have observed and volunteered at many area schools and nothing compares to DKH!!

We moved here from out-of-state and after much research chose to enroll our little boy at Reading Friends. It was the best decision we've ever made. We were immediately welcomed by the staff and other families. The curriculum (including a new nature program for next year) is unmatched and taught by the most caring, imaginative and patient teachers. My child (now in the Kinder program there) literally jumps out of the car every morning in anticipation of each new school day. The school radiates happiness and compassion from the director down and if there were some way to keep our son there through high school, we would.

My daughter has been at DKH for the past two years and is registered for the fall. We love the environment, the teachers and Shelly the director. We couldn't ask for a better pre-school for our child. We tried another preschool in Lewisville with horrible results. Before putting dd in DKH, we heard the most positive feedback on the school...never anything negative and after 2 years there we see why. It's an excellent school.
