After visiting and researching both schools, I chose Reading Friends for my son. DKH seemed a bit cluttered, cramped and disorganized; also the staff wasn't overly friendly. I liked Reading Friends from the moment I entered the building. The director was so welcoming and very knowledgeable about child development and education; the staff were all kind, patient and nurturing with the children (and with me!). I also liked that all the teachers are degreed/certified and experienced. Thanks to Reading Friends, my son was reading on a 1st grade level before completing the pre-k program; even more important, the teachers at Reading Friends instilled in him a love for reading and learning that I think will last him a lifetime. Some people have commented that Reading Friends is a bit pricey; I say the old adage is true: you get what you pay for!
