I did when it was something that my child liked. When/if my child no longer enjoyed it, we stopped.
I wouldn't do that to my child if he/she didn't like it or felt uncomfortable.
I am just curious. How many of you still give your kids raspberries or zerberts? If so, why? Is it fun? Do you just enjoy the laughter? etc.

why? This is a really odd first question....and you have never answered any either.
Welcome to mamapedia, R.
Mine are 17 and 15. We stopped doing that when they were 2.
I don't think my 19 or 14 yo would like that very much. Pretty sure they outgrew it when they were toddlers...if not, I certainly did.😉
we stopped doing that when they were toddlers.
You mean tummy flubbies?
Well that's what we called them.
We did from time to time but only when our son was a toddler.
After that we seemed to out grow that.
As for the why - I don't know - it defies analysis.
Sometimes especially during the terrible 3's our son would be on the verge of a melt down.
Sometimes some silliness could avert it.
Ha! I just did that to my 15 year old's sternum. That's what he gets for hugging my head while I'm sitting in a chair. He still laughs.
I don't really get this question - why does anyone do anything? I gave zerberts when my kids enjoyed them. I stopped when they didn't.
We stopped when he was about 2. We primarily did it at diaper change time to keep him happy. When he stopped liking it we stopped doing it.
You stop when your kids think it's okay to do to other kids, or if they think the spitting sound of a raspberry or the flatulent sound of a zerbert is fun to do in preschool or in church or in a restaurant. Nobody wants a child's spit on their food in a restaurant, you know?
You can do it while you're changing a fussy or squirmy child under the age of 2. After that, you're just asking for it. Ask yourself why you think it's a good idea beyond that age.
This is one of America's cultural divide questions? What the heck is this??? Others seem to know-- heck I thought it was a dessert!
