P.K.
That's good. Since you are renting I would not spend more than that. Just measure everything g before you purchase.
The range hood (I think that's what it's called) over the stove is old. When it gets hot in the house, it emits a really funky smell. I've tried to clean it as best I can, but there's decades of grease stuck where it can't be cleaned.
We rent this house, so I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I would be willing to put out a hundred or maybe two to replace this thing, because the smell is makin' me sick.
I googled range hoods and get prices ranging from $88 to thousands. Is this $88 one, linked below, the actual whole range hood that goes over the stove? Or is this only one piece of the apparatus? It doesn't have to be this exact range hood, but I'm just hoping it's actually possible to purchase one for less than $100.
Do you know of any other cheap ones?
Thanks!!!

Appears to have things you might want to add depending on what you need. The power cord? Filter? Bulb?
Is it possible for you to go look at them in person? If not, there is a "live chat" button - you might want to ask questions - I've used live chat before and they are VERY helpful!!
Home Depot also sells them.
Good luck!!
You really need to get an OK with your landlord before changing anything. I would just ask them to replace the one that is there, maybe they would consider other upgrades as well. I am a landlord and it really irks me when tenants do stuff without my permission (it usually costs me more later on).
The link you showed is a range hood but you will need someone to change it out, they are usually hardwired into the wall. If you have no experience with electrical work then please have a professional do it. If you burn the house down you will be libel for the damages.
