I rather do business one-on-one with a mom...its for better bargaining and sometimes mom's just want to start giving stuff away towards the end of the day. It creates a win/win situation.
Hi! Our preschool is hoping to have a Mom2Mom sale to raise money for a playground, since our current one has aged & new codes have been passed. The entire playground has to be replaced. We cannot find any information on how to run a department store-style sale and would like to talk with someone who has been a part of one. All responses are welcome; Would you rather go to a sale with tables for each Mom, or a department store-style sale? Please help us figure this out! Thank you, K.

I only go to department store style sales.. I dont have the time to go from table to table looking for the right size.
HOwever I can tell it is a lot more work to run a dept store style sale. You need cashiers.. someone has to sort and organize all the items.
You should talk to the mothers of multiple groups to find out how to run a dept store sale.
ther is a a motheres of multiples group that meets at holy cross lutheran church in warren. they run 2 sales year..spring and fall.
I have been to one department style Mom 2 Mom sale and would never go to another one! One line to check out was a nightmare and the wait was 45 minutes! Individual tables are so much more convenient so you can pay each person.

Department store set up would be nice, but that sounds like an awful lot of extra work. I go to the table by table sales and those seemed great to me! I've never been a part of one. Do you have this website??

That's a great idea! Good luck with it. :o)
Hi K.
I personally prefer going table to table. I think it gets less crowded for people lookign for the same size items.
if you go to mom2momlist.com they will list your sale for a fee (don't know how much) and probably have advice for selling.
Good luck!
Northern macomb mothers of multiples runs a store style mom to mom sale - next one is Sept 20th. Julianne Ray is the president - ###-###-#### and she should be able to help you! Good luck!
Hi K.,
I have no experience with Mom2Mom sales, but I have a suggestion for additional fundraising at the sale if you're interested. I'm close (Bloomfield Hills)and happy to share a unique idea if you're interested. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Replacing a whole playground - that's a tall order.
Please reply if you're interested in hearing more. I've done fundraising for many years and would love to help. Thanks - L.
