Hi everyone! I am looking for new recipes, my family and I are tired of the same old dinners every night. I would love Crock-Pot recipes, the only thing I know how to make is a roast in my Crock-Pot. My kids aren't very picky but my husband is the one that I have to work around, he doesn't like a like of ground beef recipes. I really need your help! What are some dinners that your family enjoys?

Crock Pot - shredded beef sandwiches

1 2-3 lb roast
1 bottle zesty or robusto italian dressing (med or large)
1 pkg dry italian dressing mix
1 pkg dry au jus sauce mix
1 pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
1 pkg hamburger buns

Put roast, both dressings and sauce mix in crock pot. Cook 6-8 hours on low. Shred the beef with a fork... cook an additional 30 minutes... serve by placing shredded beef on bun and topping with mozz cheese. YUM-O!

What I usually do is cook it overnight from like 10 pm to 8 am...shred it and then turn the crock pot off until lunch time (stays warm) and then serve it up...

I love mt crockpot, too! Even in the summertime, it's just too easy. I would get the "fix it & forget it" cookbook. It is full of crockpot recipes. I've made several and liked them all. There are a ton of chicken recipes, too!

Right before my 10 week old son was born, I made several casseroles and froze them. All I did was set it in the fridge the night before and bake for 30 minutes when I got home from work. Here is a link to the website where I found my recipes:
http://busycooks.about.com/od/makeaheadrecipes/a/freezeca...

Also...I just tried one of those places that cooks the meals for you. So far we have liked the dinners and they were very reasonable.

Good luck!!

I've found some great and very simple recipes from Chef Cathy Zeis. You can find them at:

http://www.kxii.com/recipes/recipes?c=y&cat=Sandwiches

Or go to www.kxii.com and click in the RECIPES link in the upper bar. They're all possible to whip up in under 10 minutes!

Good luck!

Hi Kelli,
How about starting some kind of Mamasource Cookbook (via email!). Have everyone send you their favorite recipes, then you could compile them in a nice email & send it out to everyone else!! Fortunately my husband cooks 99% of the meals in our house (he's AWESOME!)but I do have a few up my sleeve!

Hey Kelli,

I know exactly how you feel. Here is one that my family loves and it is super easy in a crock pot or slow cooker.
Pot Roast

2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
1 pack of dry lipton onion soup mix
1.25 cups of water
1 5 lb chuck roast

In crock pot place both the cans of soup and the dry mix and the water. Stir to combine. Cut the chuck roast in half for even cooking. Place in crock pot. Coat w/ mixture.

Cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours. Serves 12.

Halfway through cooking I add carrots, potatos, and a whole onion. And towards the end I add a can of cream of celery or mushroom to have enough gray.

I usually cut the recipe in half but when I don't I serve open face roast beef sanwiches a few days later. Family doesn't even know that they are eating leftovers : ) HTH.

Also, If you get any other good recipes, I would appreciate it if you would forward them my way. Happy cooking.

A great resource that I like to use is www.kraftfoods.com. They have a free meal planner and lots of recipes. The recipes range from quick-fix to slow cooker recipes.

Hi, I make a pretty good chili in my crockpot. Here goes:
1 lb. ground turkey (beef, if you prefer)
1 15 oz. canned tomatoes (don't drain)
1 15 oz. Ranch Style Beans
1.5 T cumin
cayenne pepper to taste

Brown ground turkey, drain. Add to crockpot along with tomatoes, beans, cumin and pepper. Set on low and cook all day! If it begins to get dry, you may have to add some water. Serve with some warm corn bread.

Enjoy!

I do a really nice TURKEY breast roast in the crockpot. Same as a beef roast, not really a recipe...

buy a boneless turkey breast, thaw it, remove from plastic, but I leave the net on it, cut potatoes, carrots, onions, celery (whatever veggies you like) place in bottom of crockpot. Put turkey breast (skin/fat side up) on top of veggies. Salt and pepper turkey. Cover veggies and turkey with low sodium chicken broth and slow cook all day. Check package, and use meat thermometer to make sure it has reached sufficient temp. Remove turkey, with kitchen shears, cut off netting. Serve and enjoy.

(If you like a thick sauce with your roast, add a can or two of cream of chicken/mushroom/onion (whichever you like) soup to the roast a half hour before serving.

Hope you like it!
Sherri

I've found some fantastic recipes at bettycrocker.com, epicurious.com and pillsbury.com. You might give that a try. I especially like that you can enter a ingredient and it will pull up different options for that item...
